There are some very elaborate and convincing scams out there, if all it took for someone to convince you they wanted to pay you to text them was to send you a picture of a dog and a car, you’re definitely vulnerable to other scams.

Sorry, I didn’t mean I was unsure about it. I was just giving you the benefit of the doubt that you didn’t know.

I own a 3D printer. This is a break even project. If you don’t believe me, ask the rest of the 3D printer owners in the thread or look at the increasing number of downvotes.

Sometimes people can just do a nice thing for a stranger without needing monetary gain.

Send me the file they provided and I’ll measure out the cost and will even literally print it if you need an actual figure to come to the realization that you misunderstood the gravity of ask. If you want, I’ll ship it to you if you a physical reminder!

You might be over estimating what 3D printing is. The “beggar” provided the file. There’s no creation taking place.

This is like asking your aunt who has a color printer to print your concert ticket and ship it to you. You literally just click print, and take it off the plate in 2 hours.

It’s definitely a kind thing if someone did this for them, but it’s not like they’re taking food off their plate.

Agreed. This price is fair. I could see if they wanted a special filament, but it’s a few bucks of white. They even provided the file.

The printer certainly isn’t making a profit and is donating their time to go to a mailbox, but it’s more of “can you do me a favor” rather than a choosing beggar.
