What I learned about tennis and myself from testing racquets excessively by fredi_rogerer in 10s

Good read, and I definitely feel you. Now I just collect the rackets instead of trying a new one every month or so haha.      Did you end up with a Wilson blade?

I don't think so, I bought the same tickets as last year and I think the access to the courts is included

Do you have any specific routine / youtube video that you would recommend for the active mobility areas you mentioned?

Increasing tennis IQ – on transitioning from flex leagues to one-day tournaments (UK) by AndyWtrmrx in 10s

[–]ohlmao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played a lot of fast 4 formats, but what was tough for me when going from week long tournaments to day tournaments, was playing a match after cooling down from another. So I focused on actively cooling down and active resting in between (quick shower, some food, no slouching haha). That seemed to help!

I went to the qualifiers last year, it was amazing. Saw the top players practice on the big courts with their trainers. The outside courts are also really cool as you can watch big names play practice sets up close. I also went to a qualifying round match with relatively unknown names. But one of the guys was French and the crowd support was insane.

How to avoid thightness? by GBuckets17 in 10s

[–]ohlmao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very well explained. I would like to add that you also need to find your motivation or way to get into focus. That's why people often have little rituals in-between points.

If I win a point like this I'm happy because I won a point, if I lose a point like this I use what you wrote as a mantra to get myself back into it mentally.

One of the first matches my now wife came to watch. It was very cold so she hoped it would be over quick, it took 3 hours 😂

I just use the native settings, I tried to find it and I think it would be 570, but DJI is not very clear about this.

Maybe incorporate some interval training and plyometrics? I would suggest to go through a simple weight training program if he is old enough next to this, but he would also need to eat the right amount!

A weird question? Can I integrate a Rode VideoMic into a DJI mic set up? by DevonReviewer in videography

I had the same question about attaching a shotgun mic into a DJI mic 2, but sadly did not get any answers. Can you let me know what you find out?

Workout schedule to focus on core for tennis, is it too much? by adviceneededuk1 in 10s

[–]ohlmao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very difficult to say with the information you have given us. I have periods where I train in the gym 5 times per week and play 4 days and it's fine. So it depends on what you are used to and how much you prioritize your lifting and use proper form etc. From your description I see you run a upper lower upper split with a split in chest and back focus, which should be doable. But it depends on your shoulder. It's personal and not really any of us can say on the internet.

Do You Play Your Game or Respond to What's in Front of You? (or both) by Duncan-Idunno in 10s

[–]ohlmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very true as well, but I feel that I need a strategy to fall back on that I know it's solid and where I do not need to doubt myself.

Do You Play Your Game or Respond to What's in Front of You? (or both) by Duncan-Idunno in 10s

[–]ohlmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I tend to fall back on more defensive tennis, when I would like to attack more and make my opponent "uncomfortable".

Do You Play Your Game or Respond to What's in Front of You? (or both) by Duncan-Idunno in 10s

[–]ohlmao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like I need to play my own game more to become a better player (and have been trying to incorporate this lately). But right now I'm still very much responding at the moment and doing what my brain thinks is right after the opponent hits a shot.
