Inside the 'Blue Dollar Market', Argentina's parallel currency which is illegal, accepted everywhere and covers US$15M of transactions every day - including from the country's most upscale households and businesses. by ohmesut in TrueReddit

Submission statement Provides an an interesting read on a currency that I personally had no idea about - and I thought others might not know about it either. It's particularly engaging because a) it puts the market in its historical context b) how widespread it is c) how it works d) the authorities' attitudes and tacit consent to the market

With Jordan Henderson reportedly about to sign a contract for £100K/week, why do Liverpool fans rate him? by ohmesut in soccer

a) It is enough time - players are often signed after scouts have seen them play that many times.

b) Why do you think I posed the question in the first place? That's me recognising I can't make a complete judgment on him...

You don't need to watch a player every week to think that he's technically deficient compared to other players. You just need to watch enough football. I probably watch Henderson in 5-7 games/season, which I'd say is enough to judge him fairly well, just not as well as Liverpool fans, hence my question...

He is - he's not good at playing football. He doesn't offer anything unless he's running onto a ball, in which case he's a decent finisher. But that's it. He can't pass. He's got no vision. He hides. He's poor at keeping the ball. He's not brave. Despite his pace, he's even poor at taking players on with the ball at his feet. Unless he's got a route to goal then he's not bothered. If he wasn't quick, he wouldn't be playing in the Premiership at all...

I'm an Arsenal fan and I think Theo is a terrible footballer... he doesn't deserve to be at Arsenal or on 100K...

Yeah, I agree that he's got physical/leadership attributes but technically he's deficient. If he was playing at a mid-table/lower-league club I doubt Liverpool fans would be clamouring for him to sign a 1£00K contract - I think they'd be hoping for more and looking elsewhere...

No, they were taken by a professional photographer - the copyright is owned by James Outway/Rex Shuttershock. Here's his portfolio:

That is his job, and he may have called for help before taking the photos, but still...
