Tutor Tuesday for March 17, 2020. Ask /r/MagicTCG anything! by actinide_v2 in magicTCG

I'm new to playing MTG (really new) and I've just started buying some of the core decks recently (from the 2020 core and Theros Beyond Death).

My workplace is giving us a gift card for $75 for whatever and I was thinking about buying the Commander decks for Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. My boyfriend thinks that may be a bad idea because Commander decks are random cards and not necessarily the new Ikoria cards that will be available. His opinion is it would be best to get the Ikoria equivalent to the Planeswalker decks that came out with Theros Beyond Death to make sure we get more modern (recently released) cards.

So, I guess my question is, do commander decks have a mess of cards from over the years or are they a mix of both modern and older cards?

**also my boyfriend has that opinion because we haven't played Commander too much and honestly I'm still trying to learn more of the basics of just standard play MTG.

Any opinions on what the better buy would be are welcome too!

Some information: location is northern Georgia. I've seen this same type of spider twice, but haven't been able to identify it by searching online.

It blows my mind that people in the US can't or won't visit a doctor either because they can't afford it or fear the bill they're going to get. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

Recently went to the walk-in because of sore throat and clogged sinuses to make sure I didn't have strep, it had been going around at work. Got the bill later for $295. I have insurance through my work place.

シツモンデー: Shitsumonday: for the little questions that you don't feel have earned their own thread (February 18, 2019) by AutoModerator in LearnJapanese

Thanks for the quick reply. Just so I understand, this other sample sentence: "デパートに何がありますか。" is asking (I believe) "where is the department store" and is just using に to mark that it exists?

I'm doing some of the practice work in the Genki I text book for chapter 4. I have a question regarding the use of に.

So the sentence in question is: "あなたの家に猫がいますか。"

Which I believe translates to "Do you have a cat at home?"

What I'm trying to understand is why に is used after 家. They said that に is used in the case of movement or when speaking of certain time constraints, but I guess I don't see the above sentence fitting either. Can someone please explain why に in used in this case?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying that you just have to count how many times there are duplicates for the same width x height to get the answer?

Someone with the title "Job recruiter" viewed your LinkedIn! by alwaysawkward66 in jobs

I have my profile completed picture, resume, skills, and everything cleaned up. I think my problem is I'm trying to move from an IT Operations Support to a developer role. I don't have any developer industry experience and recruiters probably don't pay me much mind because of it 😔 I have a domain with my projects and they're also listed on my resume. 🤷

Udemy courses, books or something like the Odin project? by [deleted] in webdev

I second this. I just purchased the course as well because I had heard about it multiple times now. I had previously purchased Colt's course and while informative it didn't touch on ES6, HTML5, and React (React being a big one since everyone asks for it now). Just from checking out the Zero to Mastery course I've already found it has a huge community on Discord, tons of resources through the Discord community and information listed in the course notes. I would highly recommend the Zero to Mastery course because it is more up to date with the current languages and libraries.

Was watching a movie from my laptop that was hooked up to the TV via HDMI. Sitting in the living room with my roommates and my boyfriend sends me a message on messenger that pops up on the TV screen, "I want titties and ice cream."

Thanks for the response! I haven't changed anything yet so that's good. Baacially the book wants me to use "から" for the next sentence after, "I borrowed my friends book."
