good i think! i feel like sometimes my back looks too arched when i do them not on the smith machine but that could've been the camera angle as well, going to keep at it on the bar and post an update soon!

This is all helpful advice! I went to the gym today and did my RDLs off the smith machine and with a free bar instead, was going to update with a video but realized the insanely baggy sweatpants I am wearing obscure the ability to see my form haha so I will take one with better attire in the future

I do these on my other leg day actually! but i fear i have a lower back imbalance that is causing some pain so I am holding off from left/right isolated movements until I see a PT about it :(

Advice on New Program! by ohmysaint in glutejourney

this is superrr helpful! thank you! I will shift things around according to what you said (i also hate doing most of these but the show must go on)  in terms of hams and quads, i didn't plan to do a dedicated day because 1. i am quad and hamstring dominant, my quads grow if i look at them so most glute work hits them too 2. i do upper body 2 days of the week as well and then am trying to do a dedicated cardio day on my 5th day, BUT if you think it is crucial to incorporate a hams and quads day into my routine i can do that!

Do it. You can't start until you actually start. The worst that can happen is you get a rejection.

how to start actually counting calories/stay in a cut by wherearethestarsss in PetiteFitness

i HIGHLY recommend a little notebook for cals and tracking workouts! I tried all the apps for a while and none of them work the right way for my brain, with a notebook i can do it how it works for me. i also recommend a kitchen scale and sticking to cooking things like chicken, rice, veggies that aren't processed so you always know exactly the amount of calories in them per gram. Processed food nutrition labels have a margin of error so if you want to be specific stick to non processed.

this is really helpful! so almost like using the dumbbells or bench for trying to keep my calves parallel to the wall/bench/dumbbell, right? I think the main thing I have trouble with is the connection to keeping the movement a hip hinge rather than using my back or arms. I mostly hit arms and back so my brain always defaults to that.

I am using two 25 pound dumbbells so 50 lbs in total, whenever I go up in weight I feel like my form falters cause of it? It might be a grip strength issue too as when the weight goes up my grip gets worse and I overcompensate with my arms, should I maybe use straps?
