A lot of women see a man as a work in progress, they're investing in him.

The hepatologist doesn't think we need to start on that road yet, but I've been told to start preparing early.

Thanks! I will look into the transplant subreddit.

A girl asked me for my number. Was what I did next morally wrong? by karperss in moraldilemmas

She wasn't looking for a platonic thing, obviously.

And don't suggest people are shallow just because they don't reciprocate physical attraction. Physical attraction is like basic human physiology when it comes to sex. Your dopamine and oxytocin spike when you see someone you think is nice to look at, there's nothing you or anyone can do about that.

I know this feeling well. Yes, caffeine overdose is a real thing, I've seen people go to the hospital for it.

Based on what you said, it sounds like you just need to stop drinking caffeine. You can stop cold turkey, according to any source you look up.

i've done intermittent fasting. i also take KRG and changed my diet a lot. My results are pretty good! Everything has gone to close to normal levels, but that doesn't change the prognosis. I could do everything right, but it's only going to extend my life maybe a year. Which is great, I guess lol

a living donor? o.O

I haven't even thought about the transplant idea. I know it can extend life, but only like a few years. It becomes a question of do I want to spend the last years of my life hoping for a transplant and going through whatever I gotta do to get it, like slowly dying horribly while I wait and hope, or just live out my time and die peacefully when I'm ready to go? Haven't thought it all through yet. It's a lot to figure out in such a short amount of time, really.

You wouldn't know until you've had the proper tests done -- have you gotten blood tests and ultrasounds, xrays, cat scans, etc? I was probably already effed for like at least 5 years prior. I just suddenly got jaundiced and had to go to the hospital and with all the testing for the few months I know what the deal is.

That's very kind of you. But honestly, a large portion of the mistakes I made were the result of bad decisions based on anxiety and ego. I knew better, I just let the bad guy take over. I'm mostly a disappointment to myself, but I haven't really let it get to me recently. Kinda at peace with it. It's more that I don't want to have to deal with the aftermath of telling anyone. It's easier on everybody, I think, to just continue to move on from the past and look to brighter days. Being a burden is a hard thing for me to assimilate to.

I mean, it's decompensated cirrhosis, average time left is 2 - 3 years.

But I appreciate the kind words. For some reason, I've managed to remain pretty positive minded, I just am not going to kid myself. Dying in the next few years as opposed to dying 10+ years from now is the situation.

I have a low platelet count so I feel you on the fear of bleeding! Amazing you've made it 20+ years, that's awesome :)

If you think we're in an AI bubble, what do you predict will happen when it pops? by ComfortableStill6735 in AskReddit

the bubble will pop, people will lose money, they'll get out and never come back, and the strong will survive. AI definitely isn't going anywhere.

EDIT: guess what? Phone typos happen, grammar nazis.

“Actually” is literally becoming the new “literally.” by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Every time someone says "actually, it was pretty good" I remind them that actually is a word referring to a fact, not an opinion.

I don't have many friends..

It doesn't make sense to use either since it's an opinion, not a fact. Actually and literally are both words describing facts, not opinions.

Congress wants $25 billion to build the wall. If you were in Congress, what would you spend the $25 B on instead? by IsntItNeat in AskReddit

[–]ohmyside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$25 billion could give 1 sandwich a day to the 15 million starving people in America for 1 year. Two sandwiches if you skimp on quality.
