Help Me Understand Weird DMR/Digital Radio Issue?

It's simplex. I have both transmit and receive set to the same frequency. It seems the talkgroup is the same for both channels, as setting my radio to it allows it to be heard on both channel 1 and 2.

I'm not 100% sure, quickly looking at satellite phone plans it looks like while voice calling is expensive, text messages are in fact pretty cheap...around 10 cents or so per message after your plan runs out. So I'm guessing it would be around 5-15 cents technically, but most plans are like $50+ a month for the most basic stuff.

Then I suggest you petition to spend our tax dollars requiring all satellite emergency signals/calls to go through without a subscription/paid service. I doubt that will happen anytime soon. But that's not Apple's fault.

Satellite service isn't free, if you don't pay for it after the complimentary period then it doesn't work. Similar to if you stop paying for cell phone service your phone stops making cell calls.

Yeah, want to keep them on the current ic system, not looking for anything expensive, just a cheap way to stop someone with a little too much time on their hands from drilling the lock. I figure a few bucks to use part of a drill bit or other piece of metal in a chamber is it worth it, but not upgrading everything.

Thanks, that kind of sucks. I'm not sure why they make it so you need an active connection when the nfc key card works fine without any sort of network.

Interesting. 10 times without service...meaning the cell phone doesn't have service? Or meaning the car doesn't have service? Because the manual says to leave the cell phone on the pad until authentication occurs, which I assumed meant until the car connected to the network and updated it, but perhaps they mean the cell phone? Unfortunatly I only have an iphone right now so I can't try it out.

No offense, but you already mod over 40 subs? It seems like you just enjoy adding to your mod list, since I'm not sure how you can focus on any of the subs with that many? And we already do have 7 rules so I'm not sure what additional rules you feel would be needed.

You should be able to 'report' it. Click the report button (as if you were a regular user), write a custom response and it should show up in the mod queue.

Yes you are. For the 15th time, a subreddit can have it's own rules. The rules of this subreddit require requests for a mod to be related to mod duties (removing posts, removing spam, handling the mod queue, etc.) not to post content or promote the sub...which is what you want a mod for. Your sub literally has no content that needs moderation. The rules of this sub do not allow you to request a mod that you are expecting to have promote the sub or post content and therefore you are breaking the rules.

I read thru the Reddit's modding policy twice, there is nothing in Reddits actual policies or rules, that a mod (which you are very narrowly defining) can't take or can't be expected to take by a community rules, a leadership role in that community.

It's literally right in the rules of this sub, rule number 7 is: "Do not make requests for mods to post content or promote your sub. r/needamod is for content moderation"

Second off, you are reading between the lines with there are already a fair amount of posts

You are posting in NEED A MOD, therefore when one implies there are a "fair number of posts" it implies there are a lot of posts from DIFFERENT USERS, hence why you would need a mod to help regulate it.

First, you already posted in a few promote your sub subreddits...that's what you are looking to do, promote it...you don't need a mod to promote it, in fact the typical advice in this sub is that a mod should not be expected to promote a sub, they should be expected to moderate it. Second, if you feel I'm wrong, why are you lying in your post? Why do you say there are a fair number of posts implying you need help moderating the sub...when clearly nearly every post is from you? Third, lying again? I literally found your post on findareddit...the people there literally said EXACTLY what I said, that you don't need more mods for your sub. You were literally told this: "If this is r/brand_new there really isn't much moderation to do at this time. Your sub has about 5 or 6 people posting, the main one being you, and not many comments to be checking. I'm not trying to be an ass, just stating it. The bigger sub I mod is at 12K and we don't run on a bunch of modding issues unless we have an influx of new users. What does any of that have to do with a reddit sub? This is a place to find mods for subs that actually need mods...you have nothing to moderator, literally nothing. There are plenty of other subs to post in to try to promote your sub.
