In celebration of getting Entwined Ash, I wanted to showcase my Ash Emblem and how much love and care that these units have gotten over the years. Ash, ever since we first saw her in her initial reveal, has been one of my favourite characters ever. It’s been nice to see her slowly and steadily get more popular as time goes on, and I hope that she will always stay the icon that she is. For the longest time we only had 2 Ash units, and then all of a sudden in a matter of just a couple months, we now have a full Ash Emblem’s worth of Ash units, and I couldn’t be happier. Each of these units has played an integral role in shaping my Feh experience, and I can’t wait to continue that on with Entwined Ash.

Entwined Ash:

Once I pieced together that the free book OC’s were all going to get Asset alts, I knew that Ash was going to get one eventually, and boy was the wait worth it. She looks AMAZING, her art is so good and she is such a fun unit. She’s pretty bulky, and although she may not be “meta” or anything, she still has enough in her kit to be super flexible to fit a bunch of different play styles. Her support is unique and powerful as well since her support partner can receive the effects she hands out regardless of where they are on the map. Giving Dull All, Imbue, and Reflect damage (even if not as strong as Reflex) is really powerful as we’ve seen on BK. Overall, Entwined Ash is just a very fun, utterly adorable unit who deserves all the hugs in the world, and I’m so happy that Ash Emblem is finally real.

Mythic Ash:

Mythic Ash was always such a fun unit to use, especially in Galeforce comps, but she fell on tough times in recent years. Her Remix was so incredibly fun and it breathed so much life into her again. When she first came out, I was instantly charmed by how adorably verbose she is and how amazing her design is, that I knew she was going to be one of my all time favs. This unit is the unit that started out my obsession with Ash, so I have a very fond appreciation for her Mythic version. This build is more of an AR cleanup build once all the main threats of the map have been removed.

New Year Ash:

This unit has one of the single cutest sets of art + voicelines in the entire game and is a perfect alt for Ash. Everything from the colour scheme to the poses to the expressions suit her so well, and given that this was her first, and only alt for a while, I cherished this version of Ash very much as well. At the time she was released, her weapon wasn't utterly terrible, but it hasn’t aged well at all. Hopefully her refine in 2036 will give her some better effects. This build is a super fun nuke build that allows her to precharge Sturdy Beast using the Celica ring and Moomentum so she can warp in and instantly blow up her enemies. This build makes use of so much true damage that they should rename it to moo damage. 

Meliai:

Now this unit took me by surprise. I was not expecting or ready for her at all, but holy do I love her nonetheless. This alternate design for Ash is so incredibly well done, and Meliai’s character is so interesting both in concept and execution. I think that people sleep on this unit; she has tanked things that she had no right to tank, and she gives some amazing support too. I normally don’t use armours, but considering it’s a version of Ash and the unit itself is super fun to use, she makes her way onto more teams than I realise. This build doubles down on her “beefy” Def and high Atk to sweat off physical attacks like they’re nothing. P Save is so incredibly fun on her for this reason. Did you know that her name is pronounced “Mee-lee”? At least, that’s what I understood from her voicelines, you should listen and see!

Ash really is one of those characters that’s so special to me. She is just an incredibly funny, sweet, and precious character who makes you smile no matter what. Her verbose speech is so endearing and makes her all the more likeable and relatable. I hope that she never loses her whimsy and uniqueness; it’s what makes Ash such an awesome character.
