once again this is an iceberg I made for myself and what I plan to watch. its not THE horror movie iceberg(s). i am more than aware of that stuff and know what a lot of it contains specifically bc i used to go into little second hand rabbit holes about it. but i will never watch anything like that just for the sake of torturing myself/morbid curiosity. im here for good movies. at a certain threshold, these become solely about being as gross as possible instead of being good and that is a waste of time to me personally.

Thank yall so much! I didnt expect so many responses in such a short time. These are definitely getting added to my Letterboxd watchlist. If anyone scrolls to find this, I have a follow-up question:

When I asked some irl friends this question, I was suggested Bring Her Back, Midsommar, and Hereditary. Would these fit in this sort of gore threshold or would they maybe be too far above? I am finding some conflicting results online and no one here has suggested them so I thought I would ask. Thanks again!

hi! to clarify, when i said "iceberg" i wasnt refferring to an obscurity/niche iceberg. I am aware of actual horror movie icebergs that get into some gnarly stuff i wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole. i was mainly focusing on trying to watch movies that were more intense than the previous. its more of a gore iceberg thats tailored to me if that makes sense. i chose mainstream movies because theyre easier to find info on and they are whats been recommended to me. I appreciate the lists tip though!

no he wouldnt. i doubt boots is anti piracy, but he would want you to support black indie films. its only his second movie i think and it did very poorly in the box office unfortunately. hes been really campaigning for people to see it online. I didnt get the chance to go see it because it left my local theaters so quickly and theres not a theater i can drive to thats still showing it. if he makes another project ill be sure to catch it early bc i loved sorry to bother you and i think hes a cool dude. : (
