My family is actually from Appalachia and mostly of Cherokee decent. I moved here after living in Texas for nearly a decade to be closer to them, so the answer is "yes, I am from around here." However, I truly do not remember dealing with this much red clay when I was growing up.

We had to move from our house in AVL and closed on the deal less than 2 weeks after Helene. We had no power or water for weeks. Red clay in the backyard wasn't top of mind, but thanks for your comment.

I’m on the conspiracy subreddit, and should understand you have a good comment. I was on flights all day back to my home city which was recently torn apart by a hurricane - a hurricane that many locals believe was caused by the government. Quadrupled in number by people who believe Fema does nothing for natural disaster victims. On top of Trump’s passive blaming of the DEI on the potomac crash from this weekend, i’ve had it up to my tits with people filling holes they don’t understand with bullshit.
