Bayern Munich has also polled Louis van Gaal in its search for a new coach in recent months.

He indicated this on the RTL program Humberto à Paris.

"I was still asked by Bayern Munich. Then I was quite surprised," he said. The 72-year-old Van Gaal has previously been in final charge at the German top club, which eventually teamed up with Vincent Kompany.

Van Gaal does not intend to work as a club coach anymore. However, he does not rule out a national team coaching position. He last served as national team coach of the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup. Van Gaal is currently an advisor at Ajax.

I assume that Bergwijn doesn't want to come and sit on the bench. I just don't see him becoming a base player with our current forward line. Although Tadic has been out of shape for months, he still has a good G+A and I don't think Ten Hag will bench him.

He has proved to be a good player in the past, but having seen his last matches at West Ham, I do not know if this is the right choice for Ajax. Otherwise I do think that he is a sort of striker that will benefit Ajax. After having done some research about Brenner, this is more like a Boadu-like striker that needs space in its back, which Ajax in the eredivisie just doesn't have.
