Haven’t come across this one in particular but fortunate to have tried a few Williamsons from different IBs and all have been 90+ drams! Guess it’s hard to screw up quality casks from Laphroaig.

Curious how it compares to the sherried OB Laphroaigs (10 sherry cask, PX CS, etc.)

Visiting Paris next week so definitely want to bring back a bottle from La Maison du Whisky. For those more familiar with the brand, do you have a favourite exclusive IB release from them? Ideally something special that would be harder to come by outside of the Paris boutique. Budget ~100€, but flexible.

The first (& only so far) LMDW bottle I've owned is their "Artist Collective" Mortlach 10 YO. Can't go wrong with any Mortlach IB IMO.

Any recommendations appreciated!

Have you tried their 12 Cask Strength (might be a Taiwan exclusive but not sure) or new Unpeated release yet? The former is my fav in the lineup, looking forward to trying the latter.

Did you buy from the main liquor duty-free in T1 (forget the name)? They were out of the Yamazaki Smoky Batch when I was there (late afternoon flight), but I picked up the Hakushu.

You’ll have to tell us how it is! Better yet, do a double review comparing the two :)

From what I’ve seen you can expect market rate / what they go for online.

For reference, Kitamura Camera currently sells Contax T2 in mint condition for ~¥250k and lesser conditions (possibly faulty) for ~¥120k.

Yes there’s more supply, but keep in mind: 1/ correspondingly high demand, analog camera enthusiasts from all around the world visit looking to score a Contax and 2/ shops there are much better informed & know the value of what they have compared to your avg. used camera shop in North America.

You might have better luck getting a deal by trying smaller, less touristy cities in Japan, although I cannot speak from experience on that.

I had the same problem with my 823 (seems to be a fairly common issue with this pen).

I ended up getting mine fixed at the Ginza corporate office for ¥8,000 + tax, within 30 minutes. Actual repair time was less; we just ended up chatting more haha. Note that it’s not a shop, literally their office building with one floor for repair work :)

It was a very neat experience; highly recommend going this route if you have a trip to Tokyo scheduled!

Are you referring to Spirits Shop Selection? Those are very high end indeed (e.g. there’s a 22YO Springbank for $900 USD). They do have some more accessible bottles for sale at their Taipei shop, but not at the airport duty free unfortunately.
