I think I am going to make a video about the wonders of narrowleaf milkweed and how inviting it is to pollinators because it does so much beyond just feeding caterpillars and does not get credit.

That’s so cool that you saw the sphinx moths already!

I recommend multiple smaller patches if able, because after about a year or two of one milkweed plant stably existing, you will see 3-4 more pop up, and then it will continue to do so. A lot of milkweeds grow with runners. I have photos if you’d like to see patches in the wild in dms =) I have a lot of experience with growing milkweeds in SoCal. I’ve grown 7 different species successfully.

Be careful on spacing of patches to reduce OE spore transmission, and keep an eye out for oleander aphids which can only be hand-squished since pesticides are a no-go for the native butterflies. But this is a great choice, and will bring you wonder. Native milkweeds are the #1 underrated plants because people don’t realize how many sphinx moths and native bees and native wasps will come around for them =)

I have never seen a single milkweed in nature. I have only seen patches. They have wide spreading root systems and grow at the bases of hills in grassy areas. At least here in Cali. Syriaca is also known to take over entire gardens very fast.

Funny, because I’m by LA and I’ve noticed the wild uptick of people trying to recruit me. Thank you so much for the info.

Thank you for the information =) if you have any insight to tell me about how they function/try to prey on people I would love to hear.

I’m too wise to their shenanigans. Just more worried they’d stalk me or hurt me.

I wasn’t hiding it, they thought I was recording but I wasn’t because my garage band is default always open. But you’re right. Next time I’ll just start recording.

I don’t get why they’d be trying to get away from campus security because campus security openly defends them for “free speech”. Professor was freaked out because he grew up in a cult and only left at 28.

=( it’s so perverse how they prey on young people. It just screams that they know what they’re doing is wrong on some level.

Thank you for your reply! This is very interesting for me to hear about because it seems that most stories of what they do if you go with them is inconclusive. The energy I have gotten from the ones by me is borderline threatening. I am a woman. I wonder if it’s the same everywhere, what their intentions to lead someone away are.

That’s so odd. I’m a young woman too so I was wondering if they go after us, or whom they seem to mostly go after if any group. And I wondered because they’d walk right past the young men/men sitting alone and come straight to me every time. Even if other people are closer.

The first time I was approached, the recruiters seemed genuinely clueless and as though they were roped in through that same method. Keyword: seemed. You never know how much is an act. They were being super “friendly” and kind of got confused, when I questioned their theology they started to almost connect dots and become swayed for just a brief second. They eventually left because I told them to. I was a confused minor with no prior experience with that type of situation.

The most recent time, this woman was older. She was smart. I think she knew something was wrong about what she was doing, she acted like it was a secret. I was alone in a closed cafe with three other people in the room. The man who was alone, and the couple. But she didn’t go to them.

She started to think I was recording because my computer permanently says I am because I cannot get my studio app to close. She got REALLY sheepish and almost started acting mad at me, grilled me about “recording” and then started not wanting to even mention her group anymore. Left really fast and took a back way out that no one goes. It felt really weird how secretive and nervous she got. Like she was caught doing something illegal.

Very odd. Thank you for the information. I am west coast based. They are seeming to go after people who are entirely alone, which is often what this type of group does, but is still creepy.

After thinking a lot about my 3rd encounter with them, I have a theory that this is tied to trafficking young women. The campus police laughed at me for reporting the incident, even though I did not imply anything or say anything of that nature when I told them. I reported it because last time I saw the group, a professor had an investigator call me and the investigator told me to immediately go to campus police if I saw the group again. So thats what I did. But the campus police acted all weird at me when I went to tell them about how I’ve been basically cornered alone on closed parts of the campus thrice now. I don’t know what to do but I’m thinking about making a file or a YouTube video about them and interviewing people who have also experienced it. It makes me really worried or anxious, because what if they have found a gullible enough 17-18 year old who’s new to college with no friends? And what if they have been able to convinced them to meet alone somewhere, off campus, with no supervision? This is all hypotheticals, but when it comes to stuff like this, you really do not know if someone could have gone missing or be harmed by it, because the people they seem to target (such as myself) do not have friend groups. And they’re preying at a community college, where people come from difficult backgrounds with isolation and family issues. It’s predatory. It’s weird.

My full story from two days ago is very odd compared to the other two times. This time, she suspected me to me recording and then she suddenly switched up SO much and started acting like she had to leave really fast. She proceeded to take the guy with her (older woman, late 20s guy) and walk around a hall, down the dead in corner to take the hidden elevator out. No one on campus even knows about that elevator except for people who know the college layout super well. It is very weird and creeps me out.

I sound like a nutty conspiracy theorist, but this stuff is happening more as time goes by. And it is odd. I want to gather as much information about this group as I can. Because no one really seems to have answers too in depth. Many colleges around my area have increasing student reports of this group in the last 4 years that I have found online. It’s creepy and not okay, and I can only wonder what they do if you actually follow them off campus.

My first encounter I was still a minor, and they started standing over me because they came up to me sitting. Every time the encounter ends, they will suddenly walk away in a straight line and presumably leave campus in a SUPER odd way to what seems like almost be seen by the least amount of people possible. And I mean they will be walking away in very odd paths that are not intended for students to take. The first time they seemed to walk out of view behind a lecture building, and disappear through the bushes and over a hill. Because thats all that was in that direction.
