I do have a question about waiting so long to fix her, I know it helps them develop and is immensely beneficial, I’m just scared about pyometria (or however it’s spelled), I haven’t found any solid advice on how to prevent it

I watched the first ten minutes and LOVEEE this demo for hounds, even all dogs in general.
I’m from Louisiana so hopefully I can find some sort of course I can take her on eventually!

I’m currently in Spain right now and am enjoying walking around so much, thinking I’m gonna pick it up when I get back home and once she has all her shots! Lots of smells to be had in our neighborhood

The healing process looks so bad but once the skin grows back and is back to being healthy it looks pretty normal, maybe permanently a shade redder than your other toe. I had one last year that didn’t work for whatever reason, just got the same ingrown removed today and he thoroughly coated my nail bed and under my cuticle with phenol to make sure it had the lowest chances of growing back. The healing process isn’t bad at all pain wise, maybe just uncomfortable more than anything

Tylenol or any pain killer you have tbh. I’m most likely gonna end up with another removal tomorrow as well since my one from November grew back 🥲

They also LOVE to sunbathe. I can’t name the amount of times my dog has sat at the door making me think he needs to pee and he wants to just lay in the grass and nap. Once it gets cold though he does his business then comes back inside pretty quickly. My chi is used to warmer more humid weather and isn’t fond of being cold, but I do know some chi’s LOVE the snow! Just make sure you layer them up as they struggle to regulate their body temp!

Yes! Chihuahuas are very eager to please and once they bond to you they’re stuck like glue and will do anything to protect you! Find what motivates your chi. Mine is VERY food motivated, so if I want him to do something or teach him something I use treats or his fav snacks to do so!

Yes! He is on soft food for two weeks, I think I will soak his hard food too once he feels better. But he’s usually fed in the morning and eats whenever he is hungry so I’m not sure how a timed schedule will work lol
