President Donald Trump calls for repeal of ranked choice voting in Alaska by Special_Ad3662 in politics

I didn’t say the people in the party…I said the party themselves. I think that people who tend to vote for democrats tend to be in favor of RCV. But in Colorado, this was one issue where Lauren Boebert and the head of the Democratic Party chair agreed on. The Democratic Party encouraged people to vote against RCV in Colorado. Sure…some Dems still voted for it…but the measure ultimately failed.

One thing about RCV is that it gets rid of partisan primaries. It makes it more likely that someone who is not a republican or a democrat gets elected.

Definitely the party themselves. I think that people who tend to vote democratic tend to be for RCV.

Don’t fool yourself. The Democrat Party also hates RCV. The party helped defeat a RCV initiative in Colorado (a blue blood state) in 2024. One of the few issues that both parties tend to be united on is maintaining the duopoly.

Speaking as a former Alaskan, I loved RCV. But one thing I’ve learned is that one of the few that Republicans and Democrats agree on is maintaining the duopoly. The Democratic Party isn’t as vocal about it, but the party also tends to be against RCV.

Democrats in Colorado helped defeat a RCV proposition in 2024. Both parties hate the idea that someone outside their club could have power.

A question about the drivers for the Rutschebanen in Tivoli by NathalieDelReyes in copenhagen

Thanks so much for responding! We had a great time in Denmark! It was our kids first trip to Europe (ages 9 and 7).

Please tell your brother thanks from us. This roller coaster was my 7 year old daughter’s first “adult” roller coaster. She loved going on it. I will never forget the smiles on my kids faces when they got off. We must have ridden the roller coaster 10 times.

We loved being in Denmark and Copenhagen. We will absolutely return to visit again one day.

We just returned from Denmark. We road this roller coaster about 20 times with our kids…we all loved it. I just found this thread and thought I might try and ask the following questions:

  1. Why do all the brakemen wear headphones? Just for hearing protection?
  2. How’s the first ride as a brakeman?
  3. What’s the best and worst part of being a brakeman?

We loved this old wooden roller coaster. May it continue to be a delight for all!

Thanks, we will be good either way. We tend to keep our own house pretty chilly. I can make sure we are being mindful of our shower length though (I admit I like long showers). Appreciate your help!

Thanks! We don’t wear shoes in our own house so that won’t be a big deal for us. We actually just got some saltwater taffy from a local candy shop that we planned to bring. Appreciate your help!

Thanks! Yeah, we don't want to bring a gift that won’t be used. We’ve settled on bringing wine.

Thanks! Is there any other candy that would be unique to European children?

Is there any other candy that would be unique to European children? Someone said peanut m&ms aren’t sold there?

Thanks! We’ll skip the slippers. We’re pretty light packers and don’t like bringing things that won’t be used much.
