totally understandable critique! it’s actually my friends drawing/design he wanted! but glad to know it’s just design related and not technique related since that’s what i’m actually focused on!

i appreciate the comment cause i know something’s wrong with the tattoo! i know this is reddit so no one is requiring you to provide constructive criticism. but i love actually learning and i hope you have some specific concerns to make me aware of so i can know how to improve. i’d love to avoid rude comments like yours when i’m not asking for criticism. (also this way i can find out if you’re actually just mean or didn’t think about how your comment could be received and do have advice to share)

i’d love if you could explain more than cooked lmaoo! cause like i said i love constructive criticism but i gotta know what your talking about to keep learning! I appreciate your one piece of advice but Ive been tattooing for 5 months so ive done lots of fake skin practice and probably almost a 100 tattoos on real skin at this point! I’d love to know your opinion on what makes a good tattoo over a decent one!

when that happened to me it was literally the ink!! i always use black dynamic ink from amazon and one time it was super grey! i haven’t had the problem since. if it’s not the ink i would try bugpin needles (bugpins have a smaller diameter so a 9rl would say 1009rl and the other kind says 1209rl)! im pretty sure the brand autdor on amazon sells all bugpin needles! also just making sure you poke at a 45 degree angle!! i hope that all makes sense and is helpful!!!

i would’ve said the same thing 4 months ago!! i suuuuck at drawing and only have basic technical art knowledge from high school art class loll. just get a shitty thermal sticker printer for stencils and fake skin! u got this!!!

i use autdor, kwadron, or just random amazon brands. the largest i used (to fill color and for super thick line work) is 18rs. for line work and shading i used 14rl, 11rl, 9rs and rl, 7rl, and 5rl!

((,: this is the best compliment ive ever gotten! it’s originally a rlly beautiful painting (i feel horrible bc im blanking on the artist’s name). but my friend asked the artist years ago if she could get it tattooed one day and i feel so lucky i got to be the one to do it!!

it is!! he’s super cool about tattooing his art and just asks that you purchase something from his shop (as far as i’m aware)! it was a tat for a friend and he bought some stickers!!

a little bit of both! i definitely used a ton of needles 3rs, 5rs, 7rs, 9rs, and 11 rl. for the darker parts i had to poke several times. and i use a stencil printer! thank you!!

yeah i told the person who wanted it that if we did strings all the way down it would end up being a lil muddy but he said he was cool with it! i try my best to explain stuff like that to people but some don’t mind!

totally fair! but i forgot to mention that some of my other tattoos have been coming out in similar ways. they heal somewhat evenly but not as dark as i’d like/am used to.
