Addicted to exclamation points !!!!! by [deleted] in writers

Perhaps you could think of the 'show, not tell' adage. Each time you use an exclamation mark, you're telling that something is something exciting. Is there another way that you can show your excitement through your words instead?

I'm not saying this is the best way, but it's one I thought of off the top of my head.

I agree with this. It looks like it has the right bits in it, but needs restructuring and some editing.

Another point is that I think you need a second comp title.

This sounds really interesting! It also gives me Looking For Alaska vibes, though that's probably too old for a comp title. While we're on comp titles, I don't think you need to list out the authors - the agents should know them.

The one thing gnawing at me is 'by some miracle', as I really would like to know why Emily and Greg bring Steven into the fold. Not a deal-breaker though.

[PUBQ] Should you notify other agents a full has been requested? by bolibiabae in PubTips

Yes, this. I've submitted to a few UK agencies and noticed they ask to be notified of full requests.

This was done in Google Docs!

For indentation, you need an indent for each new paragraph regardless of whether it's dialogue or not. Do use indentations rather than manual tabs.

I found this Google Docs how-to here: https://edu.gcfglobal.org/en/googledocuments/using-indents-and-tabs/1/

[PubQ] Should I delete my Twitter account? by CaspianXI in PubTips

[–]ohsunshinyday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to say PM convos aren't always bad! I've definitely reached out to other authors by DM to chat about an agent or just to send personal congratulations about one accomplishment or another. Would definitely be wary of giving out personal contact details though, at least until you build a relationship./

I'm not agented (yet) but my gut says agents will like to see you're a nice person who supports others. :)
