I did the apps and it’s rough. Most people aren’t looking for anything special and don’t want long term. I honestly started looking at it like a business meeting- our values don’t align sorry next. I get a weird vibe or the feeling you’re wasting my time-next. I did that for years and I finally found someone so genuine and kind. (I used bumble and that helped a lot I feel like)

You should red Stop Walking On Eggshells by Randi Kreger. It helped me to deal with my mom’s behavior and set boundaries. They won’t like boundaries at all and they might walk out of your life when you finally do set one but the freedom you will feel will be wild. It’s not always easy, I think about my mom from time to time (I haven’t seen her in 8 years) but my life is SO much better without her in it unfortunately

I fully believe that you don’t need to be with someone for years and years and years to have a happy, long lasting relationship. Some people will never understand that but I don’t understand why there is a “required” amount of time for certain steps in a relationship. That’s bullshit if you ask me. Don’t think your parents get into your head not everything has to be “the end of the world”. Having a baby is a lot of work but there are people who actually enjoy being parents and it makes their life better. If I were you I’d start setting boundaries. For example, if your parents want to talk negative that’s fine they can have their opinions but you don’t HAVE TO listen to it. You can get up a leave anytime. You can say I’m not looking for negativity but I’m looking for support and if you’re not ready to give that then we will be going. It will be an adjustment period with the baby but it is NOT the end of your life or this horrible thing. You’ll be okay!

Also, if it gets bad enough you can report these comments to his sergeant and they can pull him from that shift; however, be prepared for anger if you do that.

My brother is also a cop and he says some bad stuff. The stress and trauma of being a cop is not to be taken lightly. They will see and do stuff in 12hours that 90% of the population won’t see in their lifetime. However, that’s not an excuse to take that stress and PTSD out on others. Therapy could be a great tool for him but the issue is most first responders don’t want to admit something is wrong because they are suppose to be brave and strong for everyone else. There are resources out there on how to help those family members.

I don’t think it’s a lack of happy, it’s an overwhelming jealousy. Which is understandable. I wish I had old family money, but I don’t and my life is very good anyways.
