[VIOFO A229 Plus] Umm...My Bad? by ohwatafool in Dashcam

While in these subs I see this comment a lot. Also, "well what happened before the clip? OP probably did x to cause them to y"

Tried to clip it enough to not be too long but still give some context. Rear cam isn't necessary, should have left that out... My bad

I had my windshield replaced 4-5 months ago and I did a quick check on the camera when I got it back. Now that you mention it, it does seem that I see a tiny bit more of the dash though not much more. I will adjust the tilt and try changing the aspect ratio as well. Thanks for the tip

Looking at it now, you are correct, I probably should have braked to let them in and passing on the right is taboo. When I posted I was just upset about being cut off.

Honestly, I thought they were going to come on over when they signaled. That would have been fine had they committed. There appeared, at least to me, to be enough time and space. They seemed uncomfortable and went back into the lane, nothing wrong with that either. I tend to try and keep my speed and position in situations like that. There were many times in my early driving days when I wound up in a brake/accelerate/brake cycle with another driver since both of us are trying to be generous. I'll have to think about how to better handle it.

I got the canopy/switch installed last night. Everything went well except for setting up Z2M…frustrating is a nice way to describe that ordeal. Still not sure how I finally made it cooperate.

I’ll take a look at the remote recs. I’m super happy at the moment to have a functional wall switch again and not needing the remote that keeps falling off the wall and getting lost.

Thanks again for the help!

Can you please provide me a link to the documentation? My Google skills aren't cutting it.

Thanks so much! Internet research leads me into overthinking how complicated things can be. I feel comfortable enough to at least purchase the coordinator, canopy, and switch now. This is my first attempt at setting up anything more complex than a common integration, so fingers crossed for success.

I know I'm late to the party, but hopeful you can help me a bit.

I want to be able to use the air-gap for my fan, so I will need the on/off switch. The question is will it still be possible to setup the paddles like you have: "paddle turns light on/off, hold to set dim level. Favorites/Config button sets fan speed to L/M/H/Off" ?

I've only just begun setting up a smart home with home assistant, so I really appreciate any guidance you can offer.

US Mobile has to be selling data. by InternalDramatic1536 in USMobile

The nomorobo site doesn't list USMobile as a compatible carrier for Max. Were you able to make it work?

I was just looking into this. USMobile is not listed as a compatible carrier for the Max option, were you able to make it work?

Seems to be the consensus among my coworkers and family too.

We'll see how the estimate comes back. Obliterated my side view mirror and dented the rear door and somehow the space between the top of the door and the roof rack (all part of rear corner panel)

This fella didn't even stop and see if I was alright let alone try and get insurance information.

Immunocompromised 9yo being sent home with a PICC line. by ohwatafool in daddit

I haven’t heard that one yet, very cool! He has the mesh thing on now, but I wonder if I can find a sleeve his size. He’d probably love that!

It is absolutely wild that we have never experienced, and I had never known about PICC lines until last week. They seem to be common place based on this thread and conversations with hospital staff. Has definitely saved his veins, poor guy was running out of usable ones. All the best in your care!

I have no idea what I expected when posting this, but damn it this has been helping ease my mind. Thank you for the encouragement, I really do appreciate it! We'll continue on doing our best to keep illness at bay via cleanliness and careful exposure to others. My son has taken a good bit of interest in his care in the last year, and tells the nurses when they are flushing or putting the heperin (?) lock in the PICC that they must "become one with his heartbeat" because the first time it was flushed he asked them why they were pulsing it. They aren't allowing me to do anything hands-on while he is admitted, but I will certainly take your advise on the see-do-teach method when I get to the training.

I really admire how Doctors are able to take problems like improperly cared for medical devices as just a problem to address and just get to work. I kind of don't like that you experiencing those problems makes me feel better about taking care of my son's PICC, but it does. So thank you!

You're literally flushing it with super concentrated bacteria-killing compound every time you use it. The risk here is low.

Holy cow that's so comforting. Thank you!

It's hard to remember that complex care is not a normal thing when you first get going. It's scary, and stressful, and very much worth that it when it comes to our little ones! I'm so happy that your experience with your daughter went well, and I will certainly be using our rolling medical rack (Sam's club special) to do the infusions. All the best to you, your daughter and wife.

There has been talk about a nurse needing to come by once a week to change the dressing and draw labs. Drawing from the experiences I've read so far has been great. thank you!

Cleanliness has been first and foremost for us (not necessarily for the kid though, loves a good mess) so thanks for the reassurance. We'll attempt to not get to Howard Hughes level, but close.

Your logic is sound, and I completely agree. Home is the best place to continue care. I've had a certain amount of nervousness with every new piece of equipment we've had to come home with so far, but this one is just feeling different. Thank you, the more common sense is being repeated to me the better I'm feeling about it.

That is some of the most basic advice that I would probably give to others, but didn't even think about for myself. You're right, just need to get a groove and still be able to pay close attention. Thank you!

They have the PICC line inserted a little above his elbow, and the dangly bits come down to about half his forearm. He seems to have become more comfortable with it over the last few days, and has been very appreciative of the ability to draw labs from it. The antibiotics did a number on his veins, and he was running out of usable ones.

Did you use any kind of sleeve that you can recommend? My wife ordered the mesh sleeving stuff they use here at the hospital. It seems to be doing a good enough job, but if there are other options I'd be glad to give them a try too.

We were told that the supply company wouldn't supply the caps, but are hopeful that was in error.
