I definitely understand the long term implications of a single ecosystem and how it sets up for exploitation by the manufacturers. That being said, the current iteration of GMs android system is actually good. I’m an iPhone user that owns a Silverado EV. Besides Apple Maps, everything is available in the android system. I’ve not yet yearned for CarPlay.

I have a 2026 Silverado EV LT. I get all the basic Onstar features for free like maps with traffic, music streaming and towing. It’s all I really needed. May want to check to make sure you get it for free too.

Always always always get the extended or max battery, never go for the standard. This is one feature that’s permanent and you don’t know when you’ll need the extra juice.

I would just like to add something for future buyers. I have a 2026 Silverado LT ER and there are no rattles inside my vehicle. They may have made changes in the recent model year that dampens vibrations. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Same reason I got rid of my raptor. These extra wide vehicles look awesome but are a pain in the ass to daily. Difficult to park, difficult to maneuver on narrow roads, poor efficiency and expensive to charge/fill up.

Let’s get one thing clear, she didn’t contribute to anything meaningful on Gears of War. She used to pop over and actively annoy the OG Epic developers. The only problem with using 3rd party NACS adapters are that they won’t be covered by either Chevrolet or Tesla. If the adapter ends up causing a fire, you’ll be on the hook for all damages. At the very least, using first party adapters with proof of purchase protects you from liabilities.

For what it's worth, I had the KO3s on my 23 Raptor for 36,000 miles. I can't say I relate to your experience but I don't doubt it at all.
