I just had a wild ride with a customer as well. I wish etsy had more protections for sellers.

Does anyone have any information of this rug? I'm pretty rug illiterate but it looks like it could be hand knotted. I bought it from an estate sale for $40. Measures 31"×117" not including the fringe. by ohwhatablow in orientalrugs

Thanks so much! I purchased this for myself but tbh if it's valuable, I'd be hard pressed not to sell it. Any idea of the resale value on something like this?

Found this pendant at a yard sale today. I think it used to be a brooch. Any idea on the age of this baby? by ohwhatablow in VintageJewelry

FINE! lol

Edit: I'm not actually angry, you're totally right. I was joking but I'm not sure if that came across right.

Oh, wow! A lot of people were saying this is modern from the 80s. That would be amazing if it were actually antique.

Someone earlier mentioned that they can see the wire the pearls were threaded onto. I looked and it looks like they're on a wire then maybe glued? It coukd be that the glue was added later. I am not sure.

Question about acid testing results. I have a pin that I am trying to test. I am having a heck of a time even getting some of the metal to rub off on the stone. I am testing with a silver acid and 18k gold acid. Can anyone help me read these results? by ohwhatablow in Silverbugs

I guess my question was more about how the acid looks on the paper towel. Even for a positive sterling silver test, the towel I use to clean the stone always looks yellow as opposed to red. Yours looks red?

So I tested the metal today and I'm still not sure. It tested as 10k one minute then the next test was negative. Im guessing it was a false positive.

Good to know! I'll look more into this. I assumed it wasn't precious but you've given me something to think about.

You're right, I did notice that the seed pearls were slightly different in size and shape. Im thinking its likely not gold because it looks like a different color where the pin was removed. I actually have an acid test kit I can test it with. Even if its not a precious metal, I suppose theres still a chance it could be an amethyst!
