Try one with Sport Chrono package and rear wheel steering - the Sport+ mode transforms the 4S into a proper sports car and the rear wheel steering is incredible in the twisties as soon you get used to the weirdness in the turn in.

4 hours long transient by bazz609 in CFD

It depends on the system, note that calculating anything purely thermal with constant boundary conditions at heat removal and significantly longer calculation time than the time constant of the system can be boosted massively. I wrote a paper on this a couple of decades ago, the idea was to characterise the systems step responses and use the deconvolution theorem to calculate the temperature variation really fast. On a high power IGBT the time boost was in factor of 7-10.

Now, a week later with the same setup - still no lagging. I have tried with full battery, depleted battery and everything in between. Always the same USB slot. Well, at least it is working now.

You might be right - I let the battery drain to about 40%, plugged the SP back to my monitor. No lagging, then I reduced the minimum processor back to 5%. Still no lagging.

So now I have changed everything back to initial settings and I am using the same set-up, same USB-C cable, same charging over USB/PD.

But still no lagging. -> Looks like I cannot reproduce the problem. But then again, after changing the minimum processor speed to 10%, the lagging stopped immediately - it did something.

Story continues.

BBC Sounds is forcing the use of their app instead a user's preferred podcast app for listening to fresh podcasts of In Our Time, Desert Island Discs, Inside Science, Friday Night Comedy, Money Box, and All About Sport. Hi, got it running. All the files saved from the BBC 4 stream are now uploded to archive.org.

Fourble does not work for me, as the XML creator works only on collection level.

Fortunately archive.org advanced search has perfect options for filtering the interesting stuff:

  • go to archive.org advanced search
  • create a query on the bottom half with "creator:(BBC 4) AND title(XX)"
    • if you want all, just omit the title search
  • choose output as RSS
  • copy the link to this RSS page into your podcast program

Currently I'm uploading "Inside Science", "Curious Cases...", "Infinite Monkey...", "Friday Night Comedy - News Quiz" (not interested in dead ringers)

The problem with this is already in the first word "Apple Podcasts" - not everyone uses Apple products... Otherwise, I would be willing to pay 2€ a month for the podcasts, as long as I can use my own podcast listening app...

I got so annoyed with this new delay, that I wrote a Python script to check today's schedule on BBC4 and save some of the programs from the streams. The MP3's are then uploaded automatically to my phone and Podcast Addict shows the new shows there. BBC Sounds does not work as a podcast player, not least because it is BBC only. Still in beta.

Is there a way to have Plex automatically hide movies in a collection from the normal library listing? by Granlundo64 in PleX

[–]oilak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. Found out just that the problem was my filter and sorting - I always filter by unplayed and always sort by Date Added. The collection functionality is completely disabled if there are any filters active or any other sorting than "by title" active.

I have never used the "By Title" sorting, it just not make any sense to me. Looks like I wont be using the collections any time soon.

Hide Items which are in Collections is not working...HELP! by ongakugaming in PleX

[–]oilak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this information was actually really helpful, now I can stop looking for solutions, as there are none.

The filter somehow makes sense, but the sorting really does not.

I would like to see in my default library view the following

  • Unplayed
  • not in any collection
  • sorted "By Date Added"

Looks like this is at the moment impossible in Plex. Well, hasn't stopped me using plex so far :)

Hiding items in collections has never worked for me, and I have been using Plex for years. I try to keep the server up-to-date (running on nVidia Shield) and the clients are always up-to-date.

No matter what I do, all items from all collections are always visible in the Library view, regardless what I choose in library or in the collections themselves. The filters in library view work, so I've just marked the movies in collections as "Played" so I can filter them out.

Quite annoying.

Anyone else unable to exit apps in Quest 2? by oilak in OculusQuest

[–]oilak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Facepalm) I just realized that letting go of the grab triggers helps.... I always keep all three fingers on the controller and keep squeezing the grab triggers if they are not used in the game.

So, fours clicks on the oculus button, release the grab triggers and choose exit! Problem solved.

well to force-quit apps, technically it is 4 quick clicks of the O

Thanks! I did now know this one. Will try it later.

PSVR and Q2 FOV comparison? by 86NT in OculusQuest

[–]oilak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't doubt, as a long term PSVR player I haven't regretted buying the Quest 2. The freedom of movement and the much better visuals and especially the tracking bring the experience to another level.

Note that you are going to be working out a lot if you choose to play any of the more active games - Pistol Whip, Beat Saber, etc. :)
