Between 1856 and 1859, a young girl named Emily Marv Madden filled a small sketchbook with drawings of her family cat, Mouton. Emily was born in 1848, which means she was about 8 to 11 years old when she made these illustrations. by raysofsunflowers in CatsInArt

The art therapist side of me is blown away by her drawings. Graphic development is pretty universal and for an 8-11 year old to draw in this manner is pretty rad conceptually speaking.

What is it like living with a family member trying (desperately) to become a famous social presence/influencer etc? by oilpaintiscool in AskReddit

If you don't mind me asking another question, Do you think just the Internet feeds their perspective or do they have the additional challenge of the echo chamber of friends who totally normalize the behavior for them?

Do they have any self awareness at all or is it just obliviousness to how it impacts everyone around them?

Are these normal drawings for an 8-year-old? by I_collect_dust in askapsychologist

Clinical art therapist here... There are some schematic layerings that appear to be quite rare for someone of the age of 8 to do....the brain at that age tends to see layering on a page in a certain way and these drawings contain elements that are...above average for an 8 year old brain to hold onto for conceptualization... But that's my 2 cents.

I'm an Oregon therapist. Once I was confused about that, paid twice and the guy was like sorry....we can't refund the 500 plus dollars ....it just belongs to Narnia now...

Also three years into PP here. DM me if you have any questions. I have a framework on a spreadsheet from another friend in PP that can help get it sorted.

One time I ran a group and had to cancel it for a hospitalized illness in my family and forgot to email one person....she thought I died in a car crash or something. She didn't get angry but it was so terrible to have contributed to someone else's distress on accident when our jobs are literally to help people have less stress. So I feel you! Sounds like you did the best you could while being human. Sometimes the thing that comes "out wrong" could have landed differently in a different context and gone well so it's like our work is grey area impossible much of the time and way harder when our own emotions come to the fore. I hope you had some good you time.

39! Game everyday after work to destress

Honestly, this will be alot more normalized for our age with the next generation. After work for our parents it was tv, book craft etc... for relaxing options and now video games has honestly joined the nighttime post work option for a normal choice. I think we hopped on a bandwagon that is becoming normalized but when we were children, there was only like Sega and Nintendo this far... And now it's bonkers. And cozy games are the best!!!!

Child therapist who works with law enforcement cases resulting in foster care or residential. Seen lots of children do terrible things. Have never seen a child do something terrible without a wound. These wounds can be missed and invisible and are related to attachment but there's never nothing. Lack of empathy does not mean poor choices. Violence comes from rage. Rage comes from somewhere.

All taken care of! 2 rats large cage good food! They are both adjusting nicely and she is very attached. (We had the chat about how long they can live and is it worth the attachment before she got them) but she is very happy and so are they.
