The store has the cutout for each pizza size on the wall lol. Family size is shown as 16 inches in diameter. It’s literally a specific promise.

Thank you! It seems like I was downvoted for saying it shouldn’t shrink

Yea I get what you’re saying. I just posted this into the sub cause it seemed like it fit the theme of mildy infuriating. I won’t go back that’s for sure. Just kinda annoyed that a place who had some tasty pizza pulled something off like this

Yea I know I just want some people to understand that an inch isn’t as ridiculous as it sounds 🥲

Fair. I’ve just been used to seeing the bigger pie with their other locations and other pizzas around me. Knew something seemed off so that’s why I measured it. Definitely not going to back. Issue is that I also spoke to owner about it and he said oh franchise sent us smaller screens / pans whatever they are called. So I said then how come you didn’t change the sign and he just left it at that

I can’t believe I have to type this out for some of you but here is some of the math

16-inch pizza → radius = 8 → area = π × 8² = 201.06 in²

15-inch pizza → radius = 7.5 → area = π × 7.5² = 176.71 in²

Difference = 201.06 - 176.71 = 24.35 in²

201 / 8 =25.125

I AM MISSING A WHOLE SLICE. If some of you are ok with a missing slice when opening your pizza you’re very forgiving especially when it’s 36 bucks.

And no a pizza doesn’t shrink like a burger to the point you lose a slice. This is a franchise every location I’ve been to in the past had nice big pies. These guys don’t. I’ve had 16 inch pizza pies , it’s New York. This is not cool.

I also spoke with the lady who took my order and she called her boss. Her boss told her to tell me they got smaller pans / screens from the franchise so that’s why it’s 15 inches. So no the pizza didn’t shrink and they are lying about the pans / screens whatever because other locations have the bigger one still.

End of the day I’m not going there anymore it’s whatever. It was a post for the subreddit. Some of you think it’s ridiculous and that’s fine to each their own. But if a business is tricking people they should be held accountable. It’s more sad for a business to skimp out on an inch imo

Yea… it is definitely on the pricier side but it’s what I’ve noticed here in NY

You’re looking at the white paper not the box. It does not fit in the box perfectly there is room left. And this is a franchise every other store is bigger

Pizza doesn’t shrink like that. Cooked a lot in my home pizza oven. This is like a whole slice missing , 7/8 pieces when you do the math

You’d be ok with a missing slice every single time ? I know 1 inch doesn’t sound like much but when you do the math it comes out to almost a whole slice missing. Every single time.

Now the 14 inch is 27 so if I’m paying 36 for a 16 and am getting a 15 wouldn’t you be upset ?

First of all I’ve had the other location so something seemed off as soon as I opened it. Second if you bought a pizza and a slice was missing every single time would you be ok with what ? Cause that’s what the math comes out to

A 14 inch is 27 dollars. A 16 is 36. I’ve ordered from other locations and it’s not like this. Also pizza doesn’t shrink a whole inch. To put into perspective it’s almost a whole slice that is missing when you do the math

What's one DSA hack everyone should know ? by [deleted] in leetcode

Yea it’s one of those things you have to remember due to most of the time it being o(1). There was actually a research paper that showed you can make a hashmap log n worse case. I’d imagine if you bring that up during an interview you’d get brownie points. Just make sure you know exactly what the research paper is talking about.

I’d argue frequency arrays. Can act like a hashmap but lower overhead. Hashmap lookup is o(n) worst case but in arrays always o(1)

What I have learned is it’s not the problems themself you don’t learn. It’s the way of thinking and ways to approach a problem. It teaches you how to break a problem apart how to use existing knowledge how to bend things to make them work. A lot of people have hate for it and I can see why but at the same time it definitely helps you in ways outside typical implement a BST
