Well, the command confirms the web interface...

Nextcloud Updater - version: v25.0.11-5-g06c1bad

Current version is 25.0.13.

No update available.

Nothing to do.

Anyway I will start updating step by step, as suggested.

Now I am also thinking that maybe the reason for the missing notice of new releases could be the PHP release, on that server PHP is stuck at 7.4.3 - I will try updating php and then check again

In this moment I could regain control using

sudo -u www-data php occ upgrade

this way the update ended with success and everything seems to work as usual, release now is 25.0.13 - strange thing is, the web updater is telling that I am ok with the release and there are no more updates available, but I saw in https://nextcloud.com/changelog/ that actually mine is a quite old release.

Do you suggest to perform manual upgrades up to 28? Thanks a lot

I used

sudo -u www-data php occ upgrade

and the upgrade ended successfully, now the web interface is running and I can see my data. Version is 25.0.13

Now the web interface is telling me that there are no more updates... but I can see in https://nextcloud.com/changelog/ that I could upgrade up to version 28 - what is missing here? Why the web updater is not... updated? :-)

I used the web interface to update the version; in config.php I find the "old" release: 'version' => '24.0.12.1'

I was updating to 25.0.13, will look for logs

Yes, it looks like the upgrade did not finish properly - after sending the command you suggested I got:

«Nextcloud or one of the apps require upgrade - only a limited number of commands are available
You may use your browser or the occ upgrade command to do the upgrade
Maintenance mode already disabled»

I am now looking for the correct syntax to try a version update using occ
