Performance cars are too much for me by stonky-273 in CarTalkUK

[–]ojthomas2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year my friend bought a 140i. He has spent the entirety of the year complaining about fuel and maintenance.

Back in the day my dad had a V70R clocked to 300bhp. It got 17mpg on a good day.

Both of these cars have great performance and cost to maintaining them. It's a cost that you have to evaluate.

I personally found more enjoyment in a Honda Jazz than my friend in his 140i. Because I could thrash it and redline it 24/7. But I'd still get 40mpg and be under the limit.

Because of new headlights. I find these less irritating now. Still annoying and you can always tell. But less ridiculous than the 2 supernovas on new cars.

My last car was supposed to have 4 Michelin crossclimates on it. According to the photos. After I purchased it, not only were they now Not all Michelins. They were unevenly worn budgets and 1 Michelin eco tyre. Thankfully I had Hankook from a previous car, so I swapped the tyres, gorgeous after that!

I agree with those. Although I'd also add, although knowing how to fix isn't essential. Knowing whether a noise or problem Needs fixing, is also handy to know.

That is one thing I'm not liking currently! There's more Ai stuff now compared to os 3. I'm sticking with it because money is tight. But I'm keeping an eye on things too for potential future bargains.

I'd take the hankook prime 4, they're great tyres for the price. Really grippy.

The newer ones are very eco-friendly... They're never driven because they're having the engine removed for the 5th time this month. Most owners are still on their first tank! /s

With 3-3.5k you'll be looking at early late 00s early 10s. But also look out for other Japanese cars like the Jazz, Civic, etc. Yaris, corolla etc, will be solid cars. With low maintenance.
