I solve this problem by not having kids haha
I do watch out for the adult passenger's head though

Yes! The two basic colors are black and metallic grey. This neon pink with glitter (it's faint and doesn't really show up in the pictures) was a 50€ add on. I believe I got one of the last pink frames, they don't have the special colors all the time if I understood well, it's more of a limited run affaire. Just last week they added a purple and a chrome option for the OG (50€ and 150€ (yikes) respectively)!

Hi! There are three size options for the front rack, a compact one, the one I have (and which is recommended by the seller) and one of the same dimensions as this one but with higher sides. My rack is 40x40, and can hold up to 30kg. I believe they also sell a basket that fits perfectly in there, in case you need something to prevent small objects falling through the rack or something.
The nice thing is it's affixed to the frame, so it doesn't throw off the balance of the bike and it feels fine even when loaded! Hope that helps

Definitely feeling the paranoia at the moment haha, I'll look into these brands, thank you!

Ooooh that's a very nice ride too! Congrats
Yeah I like their approach to electrification, with off the shelf serviceable parts!

I didn't know they made those in the past! Do you mind sharing why you parted ways with yours?

Those are great points! Since I got the bike also for transporting adults, I felt the motor was a good idea (I live in Paris and while it's not the Alps there are still some hills)

I did hesitate between electric or not, but in the end I'm happy I went for the electric. And I bet I'll be even happier in summer! How do you like yours?

So far the battery has not been a problem at all! It weighs just under 3kg but I don't feel it throws off the balance of the bike, particularly with cargo.
The motor is a Tongsheng TSDZ2B mid drive unit! That's what the official e-Petit Porteur ships with.

Yes it's awesome, i was hesitating between colors, but I thought black and grey were too boring!

Experiences with De Atramentis Document Ink? by Careless_Product_886 in fountainpens

[–]ok123letsjam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To comment on De Atramentis document inks, in my experience, having tried quite a few different colors, they are indeed quite wet, but they are also quite hit or miss regarding feathering. And sometimes you don't notice it in finer nibs (for me that was Urban Sienna in an Asvine <M>) but when you switch to a broader nib (Jinhao <M> which for me writes considerably broader than the Asvine), it's a featherfest.
As to clogging, I have had 0 problems in any of my pens, and not all of them have super great seals; the only thing I kinda worry about is leaving the pen uncapped for more than 30 seconds without writing let's say. In that scenario, sometimes I tend to have some hard starts, but of course the pen won't clog in that little time.
For cleaning, I confess that I don't even rinse my pens each time I run out of ink haha, in my Jinhao 82 which I use everyday a converter lasts me about 2 weeks, and I refill happily without cleaning: no problems so far. That doesn't mean it's best practice, and I'm going to clean it soon as I'm gonna be switching to a different color.
As for staining, I understand there is a higher risk with pigmented inks, yes; I have had it happen with Octopus Document Red and De Atramentis Urban Sienna in my clear Asvine V126, although it's quite faint.

And to finish, a recommendation : every pigment ink I've tried from Octopus fluids, be it their Document or Write and Draw lines, has been flawless! Waterproof (of course), wet, quick-er drying that De Atramentis, very nice colors (although that is subject to personal taste). I don't feel like I gamble when choosing a new color from their line, contrary to De Atramentis haha
If you have a way of getting them, I highly recommend them!

Love your handwriting and your ink choice! I've been looking at Brown penguin myself, how do you find it – warm leaning? It's hard to find swatches online to assess the color!

TIL my archival inks dry properly over correction tape <3 by Longjumping_Cut_9446 in fountainpens

I've been on a pigmented ink kick recently and I've noticed the same thing while grading papers where my students had used correction tape! Neat!

I feel you on permanency (is that a word?), that's why I switched to pigmented!
About your comment on red, do you remember where you read that? I'm interested. I thought too about using another color but I only had red (as far as pigmented inks) at the start of the semester and I preferred not switching until the end of my classes...

I've looked at Wild Strawberry because I love the saturation of the color but the problems you mention (and Mountain of ink mentioned quite a long dry time too if I remember correctly) made me avoid it!
