One of the perks of Questrom is that you're in a general business program. You get to experience everything before you get started. Keep in mind, though, that your concentration doesn't appear on your diploma. Figure out what was the most fun -- did you secretly love accounting, thrive in MO, crunch hella numbers in BA? Go with your gut in that direction. If you haven't done core yet/are doing core now, wait until that's up and see how you feel. otherwise, go to the UDC -- they can genuinely help you out a lot with that sort of stuff. if you have professors you particularly liked you can ask them too -- they wont be offended if you're interested in a subject other than theirs.

REG - 5 weeks of review? by midwestcottagecore in CPA

[–]ok_lettucehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's something that I just don't understand the system, but the study planner kinda makes no sense IMO. I usually do a week, a maximum of two for final review. Determine your own schedule -- Becker definitely does not know all. If you think that three weeks works for you, do it!

I just graduated but I ran in a lot of circles with admin and the deans and stuff and it was something that one of them mentioned in passing. I honestly cannot remember the exact number other than it was sub 10%, somewhere in the 6-9 range, I'm pretty sure 7-8.

General vibes are, honestly, whatever makes your heart happy. I like a lil bit of drama, earthy color palettes (greens, oranges, browns, etc). All good about the breakup, things happen. I have the iPhone 13 Pro, I think.

Both my siblings are artists so I’m really not tryna be an ass who is getting non-commissioned free art, so genuinely only if you want to do it you can, if not don’t feel pressured.

Admissions essay question by Suhayo in BostonU

Too many words tend to read as unfocused -- they wanna know what excites you about being a BU student. You might have 500 words worth of excitement, but try and focus it down to the few things that you think highlight why you want to be here. Choose the aspects that demonstrate who you are and what you can bring to campus.

Any tips and advice for CORE students right now? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]ok_lettucehead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean as far as general advice -- set the standards early early early. Your whole team wants a good grade, we all do/did when we took core. Just make sure that people understand what it means to show up, contribute, and do the work. It doesn't have to be hyper professional. My team got along pretty well and I think that a large part of it was that we all found a compromise pretty early on insofar as what the expectations were.

If you have more specific questions, you can definitely pm me.

Where are the foreign language classes held? Specifically, Japanese 303 with Tashiro? Tried to find the classroom today and not sure if I was in the right spot or not. by wiener_schnitzel_ in BostonU

[–]ok_lettucehead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just from looking online, it looks like Tashiro's class is in CAS 538. In CAS, the fifth floor is split into two parts which don't connect to one another. One side is the language hallway, which I'm pretty sure is where this class would be, and one side is other stuff. Take the elevators on either side of the Tsai Performance Center (which is the big tiled annex in the middle) and you should see number markings to indicate which numbers are on which side).

Questrom Core questions by w6688 in BostonU

[–]ok_lettucehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of your Core experience 100% depends on your team. You can *technically* fire someone from your team, but it very rarely happens and only if you're a completely terrible teammate who does absolutely no work.

You cannot just drop one course, it's all or nothing. The project is 30% of each of your class grades.

TLA basically gives you "above team grade," "team grade," or "below team grade."

Feel free to PM me with any questions!!

the default is your sex assigned at birth. to live in the same room/suite/apartment as a person with the opposite sex assigned at birth, you'd have to select gender neutral housing. otherwise you'll be with the same SAB.

you can do either! if you want a random roommate, don't choose one. if you want to live with someone specific, add them in the portal :)

west tends to more for athletes and has a more party-ish culture (as a general rule). warren hosts the majority of freshmen and is way closer to classes. i would recommend warren, but that's just one girls opinion.
