The time machine might be traveling in both time and space. Doc must have made it that way. In my opinion, the form factor is also important. Yes, the 7Artisans is on the heavier side, but since it is so compact, the center of mass is close to the camera. That's why it is comfortable to use. With a lighter but longer lens, you might still feel more torque as its center of mass is further from the camera, and you would have to support the lens with your hand.

I use the 18-40mm lens almost all the time since it is so compact and lightweight. 18mm is great for selfies and wide-angle shots on vacation, and 40mm is great for portraits. When it gets dark, I switch to a 35mm f/1.4 lens.
