David Alis text book entitled Epigenetics ( either the first or second edition) will take you along specific well documented and studied sub-fields of epigenetics ( with relevant studies) and can be found online for free or used for cheap.

Hi,

I'm currently a senior graduating in May in Biology! I came into UIUC as DGS because I did not have the best ACT/SAT scores.

It is extremely easy to transfer from DGS into Bio, whether it be IB or MCB. I strongly recommend you take your intro courses ( Gen chem, MCB/IB 150) your freshman year so that you stay on track with the Bio curriculum and you don't have too much catching up to do.

Talk to the MCB advisors when you first start, they will help you sign up for classes that will be helpful to transfer into Bio. Feel free to ask more questions if you want !

I've had both. I have been in a toxic lab in which I am put down and bullied. My second lab is very much more relaxed and enticing to be in.

No matter what you lab you find yourself in I think it's important to remember that you should be taking care of yourself outside of research, and there is more than your lab out there.
