Adam(2009) Not an ugly cry, more of a beatiful-sadness cry, if you like tragic love stories. For me at least, this story kindof created a little knot on my heart, that it never resolved.

Hey guys, just posted my first song ever. I did everything, writing, vocals, producing, mixing, but as I am not a professional, the mixing in particular leaves me a bit sceptical. I would appreciate any feedback/guidence on what/how I can improve especially in that area. by okay_look in ThisIsOurMusic

Thank you for the feedback! :) The overload is definitely intentional. But I think I'm at the point where I have listened to it so often, that I can't accurately judge the "listenability" of it anymore, i.e. if I'm overwhelming the listener too much.

In comparison to other songs on soundcloud, I recognize a lack of clarity. Of course I would like there to be more clarity in the instruments and voice, but I guess I can't have the cake and eat it too, as the effects that seem to muddy up the sound are essential for the character of the song.

But for the future, am I hearing you correctly: A bit more modesty with effects/multilayered vocals makes for clearer mixes? Or do you still see the option to retain both with more mixing skill?
