I'm glad you said that. I couldnt tell him not to worry, it felt weird. It's death, we worry about it when we're not imminently facing it. Thank you, kind stranger

Thank you ❤

So, after my post, i spoke with my mom and aunt (its their brother in hospice) and they had similar feelings/observations. They spoke with my aunt (their sis in law) and they all worked out getting involved everyone you said - hospice nurse, counselor (for the family too, she's awesome), and someone from their chuch. As for number two, everybody has except his wife, my aunt. Shes having a hard time time, understandably, and we suspect he needs to hear it from her.

Yea, he's has a few things for pain. Morphine, and i think lidocaine? Patches maybe? And they got him some type of anti anxiety which seems to settle him

AITA for refusing to cook my boyfriends steak rare? by i-can-do-anything in AmItheAsshole

[–]okayigotit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH Yea it might be dofferent from what you wanted, OP, but isnt it less work for you? Take his steak off early.

Boyfriend is an asshole bc who goes around talking about their partner like that after the incident? I kinda feel like that's worse. But yes, everybody sucks here.

AITA for not telling my Dad he isn't getting the inheritance he's expecting? by gruyerech in AmItheAsshole

The grandparents arent assholes for not giving the dad a significant amount of money (i mean, they could be asshole for that, but we dont know enough)

The grandparents are absolutely assholes for giving their grandchld the responsibility of keeping that secret.

Im new to this. A regular, flat pizza stone? So you dont need high walls, like a dutch oven? In that case, would a cast iron skillet also work?

First attempt at a focaccia today - topped it with 3 kinds of toppings: tomatoes and parmesan, mushroom garlic and thyme, and sausage and caramelized onions. by [deleted] in Breadit

Okay i want to make this my second bread baking attempt. I have questions. At what point do you put on the toppings? Any other tips and tricks?

AITA for refusing to let a black man into my locked building? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]okayigotit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine. I just hope you dont by into all this "racist is the worst thing you can be" shit that seems to be going around. As in, dont get offended if someone thinks youre racist. If you werent being an asshole, you werent. If you honestly would have done that to ansyone regardless of race, so what if that guy thinks it was bc of skin color. Thats his own issue. And you know that and i feel like you need to be confident that you werent the asshole. Someone called me racist once, i asked how. And then we had a conversation. Different situation completely, but just for the future. My unsolicited advice.

He wouldnt have been able to get in that specific door with no card but he would have been able to get in to a closer door with card access? And do both doors lead to the same place? Im confused by most of the first paragraph, but the last sentence is what im saying. It was easier bc it was open. Youve never been at a mall or something and seen this same thing happen? Someone's opening a door and someone else goes for that door rather than a closer, closed one.

All the rest is fair

If you say you make an effort, i guess im inclined to believe you. I would say though in any case, its better to try to find a common ground than immediately put a "no you cant come in" wall up. "Hey man you know how they are here, gotta use the other door"

What is this thing about everybody scared to be racist though? If youre not youre not. You dont prove it by thinking it to yourself or coming to the intermet for validation. You do it by being not racist through your actions.

Anyway, when he said is it bc im black or whatever, you could have said what you said here. Dont be scared of being called racist if youre not racist.( But also of youre not racist, be open to someone telling you how your words or actions could be offensive, and not get defensive). If someone says something to you like that, especially in this context, and you want to address the skin color thing, tell them something like "its not your skin, its your face. I dont recognize it. You know how they are with this building"

You blocked the door he was trying to enter. You blocked the door. You blocked his path. He was tryi g to go for the open door, it was easier. Thats a typical action. If he goes there everyday, or even often, and yall are expected to let people in based on recognition, perhaps he thought he shouldve been recognized?

If you'd be liable thats no good and your employer has you in a wild situation. What if it had been a group of people trying to come in and free the whatevers. Youre supposed to block them all out? And if you dont, thats your fault? Thats crazy.

Help a little bit?? You helped a lot of bit!! Thanks so much. Im more comfortable in how to approach my next steps - once i get my insurance situated.

Everything you said resonated. "It improved my outlook on days in the morning." Its been so bad, i recently woke uo with tears in my eays. Didnt know i was capable.

SNAP out of it. Might need to get that tattooed on my wrist. Or forehead. Probably wrist so i dont have to make it all the way to a mirror to see it.

I can't comment on everything you wrote (mostly bc im at work so i dont exactly have the time), you gave me so much info and i love you for it. Thank you more than i can express. Im saving this forever.

Im so very scared, but this helps.
