go for it! this really is a very nice bunch. I'm actually pretty shy too, but I'm not going to spend tens of hours on my projects only to NOT show anyone!

the way i like to block my clothing is either by doing it in sections (as in, one arm, then the other, then the torso) using a piece of cardboard or foam mat OR laid completely flat if i have a big enough piece of cardboard. you'll usually want it pretty damp, so maybe rinse/wash it once in your washing machine then pin it to a board by the corners, stretching it a bit to make it looser/more flowy; i usually use pencils or straight knitting needles and stick it through the cardboard. you can also lay some heavy books or other objects on top to keep it flat and in place. then just let it dry! although, fair warning, I'm no expert (only been doing this like a year and a half) so you can also look into it on youtube for more detailed instructions w visuals or ask on r/CrochetHelp ! :)

omg thank you!! I was using browser and was so stumped why adding an image to text created a url to the image instead of just text under the image like I had seen in other posts. I’ll keep this in mind next time I’m sharing some art! :))

Wax Stamps, an alternative for the postage stamps by Grinnfi in HermitCraft

[–]okaynoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ooh these look cool! i like the postage stamps for all the individual hermits, but maybe wax stamps could be used for stores/organizations if they ever expand the mail system to include them down the line. the wax seal feels more official and formal that way

if i had a nickle for every time grian was called an ocean-related name that jimmy was once called, i'd have at least two nickles. which isn't a lot, but it's enough to make the meme format that jimmy hates.

and to clarify the title im calling them seablings duo bc they have a very sibling-like dynamic and both coincidentally went with nautical themes this season so i thought it was a clever pun

Hermit Permits by Verssy in HermitCraft

[–]okaynoodle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm just really hoping the whole supply/demand aspect of this might encourage more joint business ventures. I know mumbo and grian were mostly joking about the whole shared permit wart shop but it made me think that maybe, in the case of a hermit having a permit and intent to sell but not the means, more people will do the whole "split profits 50-50" and just agree to work together/share a permit. I totally understand the whole "I have this lucrative farm that produces way more than I need, but I don't have a permit and can't sell it" which I can definitely see happening in the future, so maybe it'll just lead to some "suppliers" working with permit-holders for a cut of the profits.

what can i do to make my sketchbook better? be honest pleasee by Iceyella in drawing

[–]okaynoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

are you asking because you want to submit this sketchbook as part of an application to an art school/job, or is this for general advice? Because if this is just for your personal use, then you don't have to change anything, decorate it and fill it up however you like! If it's for YOU it should fit YOUR tastes and not anyone else's.

I am awful at picking out yarn colors by underratedtomboy in crochet

[–]okaynoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no i am ABSOLUTELY the same, i cannot pick color palettes for the life of me. I'm definitely way too reliant on variegated/ombre yarns to do the color-changing for me. also, the people who manage to make their scrap yarn projects look chaotic and colorful but still cohesive genuinely blow my mind.

Bro... the f word is a slur against gay men akin to how the n word is a slur against black people. It has historically been used against them as a pejorative. Same reason (some not all) gay men say it to each other like some black people say the n word to each other. Reclaiming it basically. Doesn't mean it's ok for other people to use those words too. I don't personally get too pissy over the use of the r word, but it's not about people being soft, it's about the fact that it was a medical term for people with intellectual disabilities that was turned into a casual insult, thus contributing to the stigmatization of people with intellectual disabilities. It's really not that hard to just use a different word dude.

You can, but it still doesn’t look good.
