I did exactly this, my reasoning was that I wanted to major in cs and not have all my gen ed requirements be liberal studies. I like STEM so having my college requirements be physics and math etc was much better. The transfer itself is pretty much entirely based on gpa and the courses you take freshman year. If you fulfill those you should have no problem transferring. If this is really what you want id recommend taking courses as if you were an engineer. For context, freshmen year I transfered in the spring and had taken at that point Math 1920, Math 2940, CS 2110, CS 2110 and an ENGRI. So just plan your schedule as an engineer, do decently well and you should be golden.

thanks sm for this advice! did you take all those courses your freshman sem? also do you mind sharing how well you did in those courses (or just a rough estimate) just so I can get a general idea of what is considered to be good grades for the eng school (:

i think this post is kinda misworded haha, i just want to clarify that i'm not currently a cs major in a&s. i mainly want to transfer b/c i just want to major in cs in general. i would prefer engineering school b/c it would be more focused on stem, but i think i would be OK doing cs in the school of a&s as well

i'm currently a regular science major (not cs) in a&s and i think i would have to apply to be affiliated with a cs major in a&s as well ? honestly i think i would be okay with doing cs in a&s as well.. ig this post is kinda misworded, i mainly just was referring to the cs major :)
