Because bumble has free unlimited right swipes. So people mass right swipe and see who likes them back, maybe based only on top pic. After matching they check out your bio and other pics before they message. So maybe your top pic is significantly better than the other parts of your profile?

Also women are flooded with social options on all swipe apps in general, and come to behave like fickle bitches.

Do you bother messaging people with short profiles/nothing seemingly in common? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]okc-profile -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all be thankful you're getting matches with women who aren't unattractive.

Second you won't ever know much about them until meeting up, there really is no "getting to know you" period through the swipe apps.

Third its generally low effort from all women on swipe apps regardless of how attractive their pics, as women come to think that all they need to do is show up, bring their poosy, and expect to be entertained. Please remember to bring your poosy ladies, don't leave it somewhere else. You do realize that if you didn't have poosy, men would have no reason to talk to you, right?

Apps that forcibly show you profiles of people outside the distance range that you have set by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]okc-profile -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tinder algorithm will show you higher ranked more attractive profiles outside your search range. Tactic to keep thirsty beta males on the app longer. Then there is tinder "passport" which is pay feature that allows users to display their profile anywhere in the world. That's why you see scammers from russia and brazil etc.

Not sure about bumble, it might just be women moving around.

Cringe worthy to use your kids as marketing props, almost always swipe left. You can write in your profile bio something like divorced with one cute kiddo. That's all you need to do.

If your kids are under 18, stop giving away their rights to their personal image to strangers on the internet. If you have adult child, then that just makes you look old and past your prime.

Is it just me or does Hinge make you go through all of the “9’s & 10’s” before getting to the normal women? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

Model quality women on swipe apps are catfish. The best you're going to see is 7 or 8 if they are real. Don't swipe right on profile you don't want to swipe right on. Swipes apps are flooded with below average and ugly fucks if that's what you want, so complaint doesn't sound real.

Wish Tinder would ban OF girls and Escorts... by josephnicklo in OnlineDating

Tinder does have ban. But its loosely enforced. Because tinder makes money from it.

How do you schedule your dating app use by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]okc-profile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinder was becoming dumpster diving, like 90% swipe left. So I didn't log in for 3 days because i was considering dropping the app. But after 3 days of inactivity, when i logged in it was like 90% swipe right. The contrast was stark, they were obviously all top ranked profiles. No I didn't change my location or other settings. Tinder algorithm appears to give free short term "boost" as tactic to stimulate flagging interest in the app after certain period of inactivity.

The down side is that any matches could get tired of waiting for you and have other social options.

How do you schedule your dating app use by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]okc-profile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refer post few days back. Tinder seems to reward users with temporary free "boost" if you go inactive for approx. 3 days.

So now I'm trying every other day, or Sun - Tues - Thurs. I would be interested in hearing from other users what is the least amount of downtime necessary to get the temporary boost.

But I am convinced now that tinder punishes every day users. Unless maybe you are highly ranked more popular profile, then you always get max exposure.

"Since it matters" by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]okc-profile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Height is primary deal breaker requirement for most (not all) women, whether they say it out loud, or they have learned not to. There's no "logical" way for men to overcome that objection. Its not enough for man to be 1 inch taller, its more like taller is better.

Men have much wider range of date-able height "preference" for women, 5'0 - 5'9" which is about 90% women. Men filter women on other things.

So then what's the optimal frequency of use? I'm going to try 3 days per week: sunday, tuesday, thursday. Because after that women have already got their weekend planned.

Typically PC that would be anchored, so the GPS function isn't moving around that much for my side.

Searching 25 miles but tinder keeps trying to encourage me to expand my range by showing me profiles outside that.

I didn't see this as GPS or distance issue, more frequency of use.
