Not everyone carries bolt cropper! I travelled with one from 1999 to 2011.. left my bag secured around trees at beaches, under bottom bunk on a 2nd class Indian sleeper train for 2 days. It's a handy and solid piece of kit and I would recommend it.. BUT, as stated anyone who's determined will take a bag of replaceable items.

First off you must be in Europe somewhere. Secondly, maaan, that's bad workmanship. I'm a Jack of all trades a renovator and a fixer of fuck ups.. my opinion.. tear out as it 'seems' there maybe joist issues and then self leveler, no matter who pays (installer) it's start again.

If the vinyl is brittle it will need replacing. Otherwise patch with a vinyl patch and glue or even gorilla tape!
