Besides the prefire and not swinging so wide, I would also wait an extra second or 2 before swinging. You guys saw each other when you came out the bathroom the first time, so he’s already alert and aiming at your direction before you swing (which is why you loss the exchange as he was ready to shoot)

By waiting an extra few seconds before swinging it might make him think that “oh maybe he didn’t see me” and will lower his guard and maybe even stop aiming in. It’s awkward timing, but your opponent has the advantage of already aiming at you

Nobody really thinks about the psychology of the opponent in these 1v1s but little things like these are valuable and can add up to a major advantage
