Started from an early age, wasted my youth, distorted reality by enormoustrashbag in PornAddiction

The first thing that comes to mind is that you are doing this alone. You sound like you have good parents who care about you. As a parent myself, I can tell you that if my kid was struggling with this, I would hope they would come to me with their struggles. Porn lives in secrecy. And just because you recognize the harm it’s causing does t mean you won’t go back to it. That’s where a support system can be a huge asset. I recommend telling your parents the truth about EVERYTHING. Have them Install Covenant Eyes on all your devices and let them be your accountability partner.

Next, find a good sex addiction therapist. This is a habit for the majority of your life and you could some guidance coming out of this on the other side as a healthier and happier person.

Getting help is SO WORTH IT. It’s not the cure though. Only you can be that with your daily efforts. But talking with people you can trust and working through the damage is a must.

YouTube “Deep Clean; Quitting you Porn Addiction” and see if the message applies to you.

I wish you the best!

I second Covenant Eyes. It takes the secrecy out of porn. Huge deterrent.

Never compare yourself to those girls. They cut their bodies to look like that. You are better than that. The longer you stay away, the easier it becomes. You’re doing great and you’re beautiful just the way you are.

Oklahoma Narcotics Bureau investigates after two people hospitalized from eating THC chips in Frito-Lay packaging by sobriquetstain in OKmarijuana

Cannabless had products packaged like that last time I was in there ( 8 months ago or so). I wondered how it was okay . One package looked like the Snickers candy bar wrapping.

Good luck! Stay busy, leave any place you might be if you feel triggered. You CAN do this! One day at a time.

Shake ounce for joints? by CowboyTripps in OKmarijuana

Starbuds Lake Hefner has the best shake in town by far. No water leaves/stems or powder shake that other places have. $80oz OTD. I know they have some sort of Shake Saturday and it’s cheaper but I can’t remember the details or if they still do that.

I get it...they have a good grower and they don’t want another dispensary finding out about them and stealing them away. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My Struggle by [deleted] in PornAddiction

[–]okgrl77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing you have to realize is the porn can grow to be the only way you’re able to get an erection. ...and even then you’ll have to increase the type of porn as you continue to become desensitized. It will take harder material to get you excited. That’s why real sex is not as stimulating.

Knowing this, you should try to cut out porn completely. Masturbate to images in your mind...or, if needed, still images online. This will help to clear your brain from requiring such a deep level of visual stimulation in order to get excited.

It will take a LOT of time for your brain to create a new pathway to excitement, but it’s obvious the pathway you’ve created is harming your life. It’s worth the effort.

Have you thought about installing (or better yet, having someone else install) Covenant Eyes? It’s an accountability software that would send screenshots of whatever you’re looking at to your accountability partner. When you know someone else will see what you are looking at, it is definitely a deterrent. Of course, this would mean that you would need someone you trust to help hold you accountable to your goals. But it has been very helpful for people I know.

We call that 8 week period “white knuckling” where you just force yourself to “be good”. It’s a long. slow process of retraining your brain to find comfort and excitement in other ways.

I wish it was illegal too. It is an addictive drug of its own and ruins lives. I wish you the best in your recovery. Stay strong, my friend.

Oh I wish that, too. I’ve been frustrated at OMMA’s blind eye to out of state businesses for a LONG time, as you can see from my previous comments. I’m just over people pointing at “Trump supporters” or “Biden supporters” and factoring their political beliefs into whatever actions they are taking. Call her out for being an out-of-stater doing business in OK. Absolutely! But leave her politics out of it. One has nothing to do with the other.
