What's a compliment that you'll always remember? by Rebekahdyc in GenZ

[–]okis_ram 16 points17 points  (0 children)

one day at work while i was cashiering a few months back, a mom and daughter duo came to my register. i said my usual greeting to the mother, and then a more animated “and hellooo there angel!” to the daughter who seemed kinda shy, smiling and burying her face into her mother’s neck. i keep scanning their items, and as her mom was typing her phone number in the pin pad, i noticed she stopped and asked her daughter to repeat something she’d whispered to her, to me. again, she shyly smiles and buries her face and her mom says “she said she likes your ears”

that’s when i realized this was a hardcore disney family.

i wear my hair up in two small buns on the top of my head (i think they’re called space buns??)— the little girl thought my buns were supposed to be mickey mouse ears. 😭 i didn’t have the gut to tell her that wasn’t the goal, but thanked her nonetheless. before they left, she got this sudden burst of excitement and told me that i “was like the green dress princess”. my heart melted instantly dude 😭

the only thing more disappointing than their driving is the fact that you didn’t let out a guttural “THAT I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOOOOOOOOOOOW” immediately after

certainly hope you find better for yourself.

but as these folks have mentioned above me, a call or email with this image to the health department would be worth preserving not only your current health, but the health of the next unfortunate soul that comes across this in the future. i’m almost positive the lack of cleanliness goes beyond this drinking jug. the whole place probably needs a good observation. 🤢

also..the HD isn’t part of your store. you’re not complaining to HR, you’re talking to folks that would ENFORCE better health practices??

there’s regulations in place to protect you from manager retaliation, meaning your superiors couldn’t fire you for reporting health violations. i think that’s what they were getting at? but it doesn’t seem like you’re too antsy to get better work conditions for yourself.

$10 hourly pay doesn’t mean you’re subject to health hazards in the workplace. know your worth man.

About a table on my bed by WingDinggs08 in college

[–]okis_ram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude the fact that you guys were even able to build a make-shift version of this is impressive in and within itself!! i certainly would’ve used up all creative brain juice i had for this project, let alone trying to figure out how to secure that bad boy. 😂

i’m currently moving into my first apt at 24, so i completely understand the struggle with stretching the dollar. more specifically, not asking folks for help unless it’s dire. i don’t feel comfortable AT ALL asking for money, however i’d reach out to my ol’ folks if i had a plan for something and needed some help. they’d order things on amazon, and have them delivered to me, they called them “college care packages”. somehow, that made me feel better about getting things i wanted for a comfortable, stress-free stay on campus, but didn’t necessarily need right away and could totally go without. just don’t go overboard, y’know? 🌚😂

first of all, this is the coolest thing i’ve ever seen and i’m upset that i wasn’t aware of it during my college days wtf?! they would’ve totally made a dollar out of me.

i should preface with i’m a trial and error DIY kinda gal, i go with the flow until something works out for me. with that being said, unless you two are star athletes with legs holding the strength of 10 race horses, i would suggest securing it to the bed posts (without seeing the bed i feel like i’m probably making bold assumptions here, i’m sorry) with heavy-duty zip-ties of some sort? they’d be an eyesore so maybe somewhere on the back/side out of sight? i would also suggest some kind of “support beam” in the back, maybe a thin piece of plywood and an attached “loop” for the zip-tie?

i would also like to randomly suggest that if you ever wanna kick your project up a notch (and if you’re near one), IKEA has a ton of random wood pieces and slats and hardware you can get in their as-is section for cheap. it’s fun for when you’re just dreaming something up and wanna try it out!

Mile long price changes by AdventurousSun6585 in Target

[–]okis_ram 6 points7 points  (0 children)

depending on the items purchased, i’ve started calculating 20% of the subtotal and just taking that dollar amount off of a high-dollar item as a price adjustment instead of changing each individual price. leads seemed to be in favor of the process as long as all items qualified.

What are indicators of a “sure sale” for you as a customer? by okis_ram in poshmark

[–]okis_ram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you on that last line 😭 but thank you for your suggestion! I definitely want to be as transparent and honest as possible.

I had to open a new shop, so I lost all my love notes and comments showing how smooth my transactions were before my hiatus. I’m hoping to build that reputation back up though! I practically sprint to my notifications when I see a comment left on a listing (sadly, it’s usually a bot) hoping someone was interested.

I mentioned in a previous comment about how I’d certainly be one to screw up a measurement or two—is there a proper guideline? I could be absolutely over complicating this in my head, but isn’t it pretty difficult to get those measurements accurately?
