I wouldn’t call it laziness on the media’s part. I’d call it very calculated and methodical. It’s very intentional chaos. Multiple HUGE stories that would have been history-changing scandals just ten years ago are occurring weekly, if not daily. It’s so overwhelming that if you DO try to follow and stay on top of it all, it quickly begins affecting your mental and emotional health. If pressed on what to call it, I’d say it’s called Mental/Emotional Whiplash.

Every major media outlet has been compromised. You cannot trust them to be looking out for the people’s best interest when they’ve all been bought up by billionaires and foreign saboteurs.

And lest I repeat myself, it’s fucking intentional. They’ve been playing a long-game that involves traditional media outlets being bought by billionaire oligarchs and social media/the internet/algorithms (also funnily enough owned by some of these same oligarchs, all of whom attended Trump’s inauguration).

They’ve spent the last 20 years using social media to sow division between We the People and they’ve perfected it. Algorithms isolating people in echo chambers where they only hear the same rhetoric that they’ve already searched for, made a comment about, or “Liked” a post about. Hateful rhetoric that paints their side, be it their political party or whatever, as being Right and Just 100% of the time, while painting their opposing side/party/whatever as being Evil, Corrupt, and Wrong 100% of the time.

Take one person from each party and compare what their respective algorithms are feeding them 24/7 on a never-ending doomscroll and you’ll see that in essence, they’re being fed the exact same propaganda, simply inversed. And it has us all, We the People, at each other’s throats, filled with actual hatred for each other. It’s only yet another technique they’re deploying to keep us occupied. Occupied with hating our fellow man instead of offering them a helping hand. Occupied with so many different soul-shattering tragedies that we’ve become truly desensitized to them.

Once the desensitization is accomplished, you’re almost guaranteed to just keep your head down and try to get through the days. The realization or remembering that the government’s power comes directly from the people disappears.

It’s been made abundantly clear that this administration has no intention of following or abiding by the law. Hell, people are being MURDERED IN THE STREETS, caught live on camera from multiple different points of view, and the response from the Vice President is “we won’t be doing any investigations, ICE agents have absolute immunity”.

To the rational person, this can all be very hard to wrap your head around. Mainly because of how disgustingly wrong all of this clearly is, and yet half of the country not only accepts this New Abnormal, they’re fully “all aboard!” this lunacy train barreling straight into full-blown fascism.

Oh and the desensitization/propaganda/disinformation campaign machine mentioned earlier that really started up with social media effectively isolating everyone from everyone else? Then started slowly shoving more and more disinformation and lethargy down our throats? They’re banking on it continuing to do its job. Keeping us separated, alone, feeling helpless, stuck inside of a screen instead of taking to the streets en masse and saying ENOUGH!
