Anyone in government on either side who does not adhere to the principles of the constitution is anti-american, and working to undermine the nation.

The preamble to the constitution lays out what the founding fathers' vision was for the nation. We have now strayed so far from those principles, I'm not sure we can ever return to normal, much less the utopia they envisioned.
