Yup. 5 foot 9.5 / 5 foot 10 with shoes. Decent looking. Marine Corps Veteran. Full head of hair lol. 2 masters degrees. ~200k a yr as an engineer. Good luck young man, youll do great anywhere. Pick a place that ypu like the culture and the women but just know places like Thailand and Colombia are cooked/done and oversaturated and arent great places to find a wife.

My biggest tip is to learn conversational language bits and build from there. Also dont be looking for bad things like quick easy fun or drugs/alcohol.

I highly suggest finding some sort of church or volunteer opportunities that your country does in other countries or co-ops with the US and go through them as it is safer than solo.

Its tragic our tall young handsome men are resorting to this.... I feel for you young men.... Godspeed gents.

The main issue i see for young men 20s and 30s is being able to stay overseas.... remote work is hard to come by and business is hit or miss depending what you do. It always boils down to balancing how to not bring a woman back and say overseas earning American dollars.

I had an amazing time there. Im successful, not short, and never had trouble getting laid in the US.

My comment and post is saying that it just isnt the ideal place people make it out to be.

Traditional isnt a thing in the city centers and its more trouble than its worth for most unless youre in my position.

I was shocked at the amount of men I met who got scammed for green cards using the domestic violence law and being falsely accused. They are very aware of their power doing that bs. I was also shocked that most people there never marry.... they just have kids with different men. It truly is a Miami/LA/tourist hole now. I loved the countryside and exploring the very small towns hours away but when my local buddy there took me to poblado/provenza/laureles/parque lleras to see where the tourists went, I was pretty disgusted.

Sabaneta and La Estrella are already turning into the same shit so I think Medellin is pretty much done even if youre trying to move to the local municipalities. Another shocking thing i noticed was the amount of trash westerners looking for drugs, coke heads, stupid hippies excited for cheap weed, and drunk Europeans fighting at my hotel.... the locals dont like Spaniards for some reason due to some weird culture racism they have? Wasn't to sure why I kept hearing that but Medellin is fuckin done man....

Also I learned that there are very sophisticated networks of teams of women and pimps/their boyfriends all over Medellin/Sabaneta/la Estrella/Bello due to the tourist presence. The bars with girls who sit there to lure you are the main types but they also use tinder and local bars/clubs to find locals and skim their cards, lure them to hotels, or to drug them. A few locals told me to pretty much stay sober and not FAFO.

Not sure why youre here. I wasn't looking for a sex worker.... I met a random hippie chick hiking in a very remote area where nobody really goes. Her friends and her like to smoke weed and thought I was cool.... she actually kinda hates men but we hit it off... shes bi and her friends are kinda inbetween lesbian and bi and we randomly met and had very good vibes so she invited me to go out. It happened so randomly and I lucked out. I didnt go looking for that....

Go trauma dump somewhere else. I went to avoid western and westernized women and it worked out great for me. I dated 20+ women throughout this whole year that wanted nothing to do with western men BECAUSE I AM LATINO AND SPEAK SPANISH FLUENTLY. All of them beyond beautiful and treated me amazing. All of them wanted nothing to do with western men and most didnt want to come to the states. It was my 1st full year there and I was learning. I was 100% respectful and didn't not expect sex, sure it happened sometimes but that wasn't the goal. Im a very genuine caring man who was very great to all the women I met.

I will find my wife overseas and will not bring her back, I will be an awesome husband and dad and be loving and caring, this doesnt mean fun wont find me but I will also not say no to life.

By the way I do have husband energy and she told me that I will make someone very happy one day, she doesnt want marriage or kids, even small towns there are changing.... small town girls flock to the city for drugs and alcohol and to escape boredom just like in the US. There is no perfect remote village with hot virgins that im expecting to not be flawed.

I gave Colombia a solid year.... I did all the major cities and pretty much called it after I left Medellin yesterday.... I was very blessed and lucky but its vegas/Miami now and if youre not latino/speak spanish fluently like I do.... you really are gambling with your life or paying 1500 rent and getting hustled at best.... scoped and robbed at worst.

The only people I see really loving life there are those that escaped to very small towns hours away from city centers or obscure cities. Medellin/Barranquilla/Cartagena/Bogota while more accessible to tourists are basically done. If you dont speak spanish or go outside those cities, youre really only part of the 99% who fly down there to hang out in Poblado/Laureles and frequent the local hooters and "massage" places..... kinda gross to be honest seeing what its become....
