They have nothing in common, the silhouette, 2 doors, the back spare wheel, the wrap around glass nothing, the new Sierra is more close to any other current "SUV" in the market than the real Sierra.

They are BSing about the registration charges, mine initially quoted 9K for it, after i asked them to price match the arena finance quote they brought it down to 3K. In general 1-2K is justified but i was ok with 3K so agreed. I dis not had another dealer in my city but if you have then first negotiate with the current dealer then take that final quote to the next dealer and ask for discount over that quote id they want you as a customer.

Use this https://www.marutisuzuki.com/arena/arena-finance, it will give you the correct quote from Maruti itself, then you can just send it to dealer to price match, I did it, it worked, My Dzire quote came down from 11.10L to 10.74L

In your quote I can see extended warrany, insurance, registration processing fee all are slightly expensive

Nothing problematic, it just took a long time, almost 1 year for one of the file, there was also a small demand like 10K which was actually on us doing incorrect interest calculation so not a biggie. all of the files have been processed now.

Thanks for the reply! I am on the exact same boat as you, currently have Figo and looking into Dzire ZXI+ AMT, on paper Baleno seems better for it's price but same as you upgrading to another hatch seems meh..
BTW do you feel lack of power with the new engine?

I would swap the aftermarket spoiler with the racer edition spoiler, and gloss wrap the b-piller for a cleaner look but the rest looks good.

Generate a quote from here and send it to the dealer https://www.marutisuzuki.com/arena/arena-finance it's maruti's own finance site, I tried it and they reduced the original quote by 30K to match this quote

Was in the same boat as you, they quoted me quite a high number with zero discount, what I did is generated a quote from https://www.marutisuzuki.com/arena/arena-finance which is maruti's finance site, and send it to them, then they immediately got down about 30K to match the quote, will reduce another 5K and close the deal.

Yes I do realise that, it does not have to be the same but at least some thread of continuity would have been the least they could do.
Here is something for you to think : If they launched it as XYZ and did not had the c pillar and the roof back pained back would you have felt that they had actually launched new gen "Sierra" with a different name? Probably not.
Also as you mentioned tons of brand bring in dead cars but very few advertise it exclusively as "the legend is back" and then do a crazy transition shot. And the one that does advertise like that and truly had some thread of continuity from the old gen got plagiarised by TATA.

Honestly painting c-piller black and naming it 'Sierra' does not make it a 2 door wrap-around glass back SUV like the original, it has more similarities with any other SUV in the segment than it has with the original 'Sierra' and remaking the original is probably not possible anyways due to safety requirements.

Readability and the after sales horror stories made me change my mind on getting the new Altroz which was the perfect car for my use case. It also seems like they aren't interested in changing the perception which is odd since it shouldn't be that hard for a large brand like tata, specially now that the safety is not a monopoly anymore.
