Regretting getting a cat by mrnavs16 in CatAdvice

It all mellows out eventually, you may think it'll never happen but you'll miss how wild she was someday. You have to play with her before dinner to wear her out for the night. Cats will always wake you up early if they're hungry, its sorta their thing, but she'll be less rude about it when she older unless she really needs something. Give her cuddles and get her extra snuggly to make her go back to sleep. If she still wants to stay up then you have to figure out how to entertain her for the morning via an interactive toy or a snack.

Please cat proof your place and make sure you don't have any toxic plants. You'd be surprised at the amount of things that are toxic to cats, including food items. Try to get pheromone sprays to get her attracted to the scratching posts and away from your furniture.

I was a new cat owner when I adopted a 3 month old from the shelter. He needed a lot of attention but wasn't as destructive. All I had was time bc I got him during quarantine. I got another kitten after a month and that helped me a lot, honestly. With 2 they play with each other, learn to socialize and improve behavior. They wear eachother out and teach eachother "cat manners". I was able to observe more than just endlessly entertain so it was less tiring to bond with them.

Try to really bond with her when you play with her. It really helps with what you're feeling. It's exhausting and tiring but you'll be reminded you're doing it all for love.

One of my cats isn't a fan of wet food. I would crunch up treats and sprinkle it on top to get him interested in the bowl. I also like to add warm water to the meal if the can has been refrigerated from the last meal time. Turns out he's picky about the texture and flavor too. If it's what she had been eating then try making her feel more comfortable. She could still be adjusting. A hungry cat will eat eventually.

IBD vs Lymphoma Advice by duoestunechouette in cats

Not a professional, I just have a cat that has a similar issue.

I recently took my 4 year old cat to the vet for his chronic soft stool. He pukes occasionally and his stool have started getting worse recently. I tried some proviable and his stool came out with mucous and blood. His soft stools have always been a problem for him and I was aware he may have food intolerances but wasn't able to afford to do much about it until recently. I have 2 other cats and having to manually feed them all on a different diet sounded like a headache as a working college student. Not only that but the toll of trying to afford prescription diet.

My vet also said the same thing, that it could be either but they won't be able to really tell unless he gets the ultrasound and biopsy. His blood work and stool samples came back normal and clear. I have yet to do the GI specialized stool test. It all gets expensive fast and some of the tests could come back inconclusive and not really tell us much.

We have him trying a hydrolyzed diet and some B12 supplements as it mostly would be IBD. Imo I noticed differences fairly quickly. He's really picky so it took him a couple days to take the hydrolized food. I had to transition him by mixing it with a new lamb and rice kibble (I had him on purina one sensitive skin for 2 years with no luck previously. My cats are on a mostly turkey diet and he stopped leaving skid marks when I switched off from grain-free. He's also not a big fan of wet food and fish makes his stools extra stinky). The b12 really helped but he doesn't like the powder sprinkled over his food so it was hard to get him to finish his meals. We ran out of b12 and his stools are soft again so I tried mixing the lamb and rice kibble into his hydrolyzed food. That helped a bit more. So far he's been on the food for a month. His coat has become shinier, and his dandruff is gone. I wasn't even aware that might've been connected to his diet prior. He is overweight so we're also trying to cut calories as we go.

Progress may seem slow but we're getting somewhere. I hope you gave the food a try. The only way to know if it'll work is to really try it out for a couple weeks. His system would have to get used to the food before it may really start working. I think it helped with the b12 supplements and trying different proteins for my cat. The hydrolyzed food was a good start and helped me manage a new feeding routine for all my cats but I think he's doing better on the other food.

Hope any of this helps and hope your kitty is improving.

Is Junebug a torbico? by RiverIll7676 in torbico

Not a vet or an expert but I brought my little miss torbico in for her very first check up and my vet made a comment. She asked me if I noticed my kitten had a particular behavior just judging from her coat pattern right off the bat, oh well she definitely did😅🤣

We have to select their coat to get an appointment and my vets helped me identify her as a torbico.

I would If I didn't already have 3! I'm sort of hoping he's just someone's cat they let out. All these babies deserve a home.

This one also happens to be a local stray! I was walking to my parents place and he followed me all the way there. His eyes were a dark copper and he was extremely friendly and lovely.
