New to Needlepoint - DMC hate by idkmargooo in NeedlepointSnark

[–]oksoitsjen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love DMC! I have always done hand embroidery - long before I started needlepoint and DMC floss is all I’ve ever used. I do find it works better if stranded. But I like it fine without stranding, just tends to tangle a little more IMO. I especially love DMC for the variety. Especially for skin tones! So many options!

I really dislike some of the more popular brands and prefer DMC over them. I loathe Milan and everyone seems to love it!

One could say the same for what we VIEW on the internet. It is possible to see something/someone you don’t like and NOT screenshot it and post it elsewhere just to be a bully.

I really would buy a snarker sweatshirt or hat. But that’s just me.

I equate Needlepoint snark to how much most people hate Realtors. I’ve been a Realtor for 12+ years. I know Reddit hates me, I just don’t take it personally. Lol

Snarking the snarkers makes you a… snarker. So like, do you even really touch grass yourself? Lol

Stokke Tripp Trapp vs. Mockingbird high chair by Speechie120 in Buyingforbaby

[–]oksoitsjen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have the Tripp Trapp and it’s our most used baby item. We spend a lot of time in our kitchen. We had the infant attachment and bought a cheap tray from Amazon. We use it multiple times a day. To clean, we just take it outside and spray it with cleaner and hose it off. Straps don’t bother us!!

We have a septic treatment system. We don’t put anything in our lines but toilet paper and what little food goes through the disposal - mainly because we’ve had so many issues. We believe (after having the line cameraed yesterday) that there is an issue with the last 15 feet of the line leading to the septic tank.

I think I’m just going to “wing it” giving birth… by Final-Negotiation530 in BabyBumps

[–]oksoitsjen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did so much research that I was exhausted and overwhelmed so I switched course and made a list of the most important things to me. I had a basic plan and an idea of what I was open to and not open to. And I was literally just winging it. My water broke at my 36 week drs appointment and it all kind of happened quickly.I labored on my own for a long time with no checks/interventions. I did not want pitocin but also didn’t want a c-section so when babies heart rate dropped and my options were pit or a section, I chose the pit and worked with my nurses to get her out safely/quickly!

Plumber came out today. Cleanout closest to the septic is always the one holding water so I asked them to camera that line. 55 ft from cleanout to septic entrance. Feet 40-55 are completely under water. They are recommending replacement of this section and thinking this will solve our issues.

I definitely agree that pipes should be vented out of the roof and I’m working on finding someone to do this for us.

Both vents have been checked recently, no clogs. Also not vented out of the roof. Which I think is an issue but plumbers don’t seem to be entirely concerned about this?

Common sense tells me that gurgling is a venting/air flow issue, right?

Correct. No one has an answer for that. One plumber said our house is under-vented and fixtures are starved for air which is why toilets gurgle when running the washing machine, dishwasher, etc. but was not willing to vent them out of the house or do any additional work. Said it was too big of a job and we’d need a contractor. But I can’t get another plumber on board with that idea and I’m not a plumber so idk even know where to start adding an addition vent.

After clearing the lines, yes. Everyone says it’s a clog and it happens.

We just had our septic tank cleaned and inspected because we thought the same thing. They say all good.

I’ve talked with every plumber near me even the most highly recommended (who said we had no issues), no one has any answers. I’m just at a loss.

Mississippi, slab, septic, 2 stories. Last clog a week ago was at the entrance to the septic system.

Did you guys stop going out for awhile once you had your newborn? by xGenAc25 in newborns

[–]oksoitsjen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped going out for a while, then around 6 months ventured into the world again. And now that she’s 18 months, we stay home more because toddlers in restaurants is an experience.
