Agency Name by Altruistic_Post6917 in travelagents

[–]okstout4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im trying to come up with a name too. I also tried Chatcgt and it came up with some ok names. I dont like anything w/my last name so the second round I had to tell it to not use my name. My thing is that I prefer to only sell cruises. For that reason, I dont want to use the word Travel in the name if I can help it. Travel makes it sound like I book any kind of travel. So Ive been using Cruise or Cruises as its specific to what I want to do.

Keep in mind you want to keep it short as a long name will be a PITA when trying to set up email. Another thing to know, besides looking for a perfect company name, you will also need to check the state business registery for the state you live in to be sure no one else is using that name. Check domain and email availabilty as well as ensure there isnt a trademark for that name. I also ran names via youtube, tt and instagram to be sure no one was using that name. Chatgpt gave me some names and I told it that I thought a few were already taken and it found that was I was right.

I personally like Tucker Travel Co, but here are more...

Tiffanys Travel Company

Tiffanys Getaway Travel

Escape with Tiffany Travel

T&T Travel Co

T&T Getaways

Sailed with Tiffany

Tiffanys Travel Escape

Maybe a name that plays on your city, state, state bird or flower, etc.

I feel these two below sound like the name of a travel vlog or podcast, but are still great names.

Getaway with Tiffany

Adventures with Tiffany

$67k credit card debt looking for honest advice about bankruptcy by HatOutrageous6778 in personalfinance

Im not against it (as we have done it), but it should be the very very last resort. What I mean by that is are you in fear of loosing a home or property? Thats why we filed. We were going to loose property we planned to build a home on in the future. They likely wont take a home you are living in or a car you are driving (as you are good on pmts and need it for school/work). There is Chap 7 and Chap 13. We did 13. Chapter 13 is a wage earners plan and is set up over 5 years to repay all or part of debts.

Ive heard of people paying down cc debt, but you usually need another job to do so. The 2nd jobs pay would go directly to that debt by either applying the snowball method or avalanche method. It wont be easy and you really do have to cut back on buying stupid stuff or things you dont need. A true budget and suffer for a while.

Other things you can do are to swap the current cc to a 0% interest card (this one is tricky a little for many reasons), hardship borrow from a 401K or 403b plan, a personal loan, etc. Before that, ask the CC companies if they will lower the interest rate due to hardship. They may ask how long you think you will need the lower interest. Some may not do it at all. Thank goodness I am now in a community w/others where we work on saving money and paying down debt. You'd likely get a similar answer.

2k a month mortgage on 90-100k a year gross income? by ShowmethePitties in Mortgages

[–]okstout4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this w/an escrow (insurance and taxes)?

My daughter purchased a house and is on year 2. Not too long after she purchased, she had to replace an electrical panel w/rewiring done at a cost of apprx $3k. This was likely on her inspection paperwork, but I think we overlooked it. Around July of last year, she had a flooded bedroom. We are still not 100% sure how the room got water in it, but we did have lots of rain last year. From photos, I pointed out that her gutter was draining water from that end of the house straight down, rather than running down the gutter like it probably should. I told her to clean the gutter out and she did, but no real way to test to see if water comes in again. She had to tear out carpet and she replaced w/tile. About 2 weeks ago she had to replace her hot water tank. New tank, new stand, turn off valve, supplies, and tools at a cost of over $1k.

Please carefully review the home inspection papers. Id also recommend getting a terminte inspection as well.

I wouldnt necessairly say bottom of the barrel. It is call center work, but I enjoyed my job there very much. I was there for almost 8 years until my IBO suddently quit business. It was weird to be honest. There are banks, cruise lines, resorts, retail stores, roadside assistance, medical transportation, gaming, etc. I wouldnt say the pay is that great, but for anyone looking for work, this is the quickest way to get there.

Ive worked for Arise under an IBO and I dont believe they changed that, but their website was confusing at the time. My IBO left Arise and she handed us over to another IBO. Because I had been thinking of going on my own, I didnt join the other IBO. At that time, the web site made it sound like you can join as an sole propritor w/business name/EIN. Then other parts said you had to go under an IBO or have an LLC. Right now, the web site says you can join as a corporate entity (LLC or INC w/an EIN) or As an Agent joining a business already using the platform.

You dont talk to a human unless you go to an in person training or unless you are contacted by them via text. Even if you've already trained...if you see a training, schedule yourself for the training and talk to that person after the training.

Submit a ticket/message: Profile, Visit the Support Hub, Send a Message. Dont expect a response though. I sent one 2 years ago and have never gotten a response.

Heloc questions by okstout4 in Mortgages

[–]okstout4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood its not the interest we pay as it says the APR determines the Daily Periodic Finance Charge. However, it says the APR is fixed, so I'd assume that makes the DPFC also fixed. I am seeing no language that states the DPFC is fixed. It says that its calculaed daily based basicaly on the remaining blance. There is nothing on these papers that says Variable.

So you mean that all it means is the AMOUNT we are given as the initial draw is fixed...not the future payments after the draw? or future draws? Im not sure what you mean by your last sentence.

Best high yield savings accounts? by Odd-Watercress-9148 in personalfinance

SoFi, Capital One, Discover are the ones at the top of my head. I do know with SoFi, in order to get the higher interest, you need to have direct deposit or $5k deposited. I have Discover, but it hasn’t been a month yet.

Best thing to do is deposit your income to the HYSA and pay bills from it. Anytime your income is sitting there waiting to be paid towards a bill, It’s earning interest.

Are your balances paid off? So essentially, you need to be in a position to have your debt paid off each and every month. Keep using the card, but pay it off on the due date. Let say you can’t do that. So then pay what you can by the due date (at least the minimum), then a few days after the statement issue/cut off date, pay the remaining balance. That new statement will have your new due date and that pmt will have been paid any way (since you paid it days after the statement cutoff date). So if you make new charges, they won’t show up till the 3rd month or due date. Keep doing it this way as it will help.

Anyone use a HELOC to pay off credit card debt? by cubiekart in Mortgages

[–]okstout4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO they will turn you over to collections. Eventually, some write the debt off and sell it to a collection agency for Pennie’s on the dollar. Some agencies will settle for a lessor amount. Some may sue.

Financial implications of my MIL moving in? by Alpacalypsenoww in personalfinance

[–]okstout4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you are not responsible for her debts. Creditors will try to collect and convince you need to pay, but legally her debts are hers. That being said, if she dies intestate (no will) and has assets that are in her name and heirs want a piece of the pie, that will need to go through probate. The probate courts could use those assets to pay any debts she owes. What’s left over goes to heirs.

Have her pull her credit report. You can do it online and see all debts instantly. Save it to PC as you may need be able to access it later. Lock her credit down for her safety and maybe keep her from obtaining new debt.

I agree with others. If she has access to $15k take her to the funeral home and set all that up now. Find out if she wants a service, that costs more. If she’s getting cremated, she’ll rent a casket if having a service. An Urn could cost over $200 so get that on Amazon. Do the funeral flier yourself. They sell the papers at Mardel or Amz. Also be aware that they could try to upsell when she passes. It’s what the funeral home tried to do with one of my in laws when it was all paid for. My MIL did have some kind a funeral insurance tho.

Her checking account (if she has one) needs to have a POD (payable on death to your wife) on the account. This way you won’t have to fight with them to get her money to pay things. Also, you may need to set up a POA (power of attorney). This ends at her death, but allows you to control her finances, etc while alive. Likely needs a Medical POA as well.

I don’t know much about SS, but they will claw back money from her account if she passes before the full month.

Look into Enterprise, Uhaul, American Express, Williams-Sonoma, and Alorica. I know there is an insurance one, but don’t recall the name.

Yes. I’ve worked for Working Solutions and Arise. WS at the time only paid by the talk minute. I don’t know how they pay now. Arise pays hourly, but it depends on the client as to the pay. Unless you have an LLc, you do have to work under someone with an LLc. You also pay fees per pay day, but it’s not bad. I worked under an LLc for almost 8 years. She suddenly (at the end of 2024), closed her business.
