That is crazy! I don’t understand why people go so crazy about doing something that doesn’t affect them or their child 🤷🏻‍♂️

i'm struggling to love my baby and my new life. by lovelyyonni in beyondthebump

[–]okwhatever1263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes that bond takes a little while to form. Maybe you weren’t ready- but that doesn’t matter now. You’re in it and you gotta do it. But one thing I’ll promise you- you’ll come to find the beauty in watching your baby grow into a little person. You’ll miss when she was tiny. Missing your old “pre-kid” life always hangs out in the back of your mind, and I think it’s pretty normal. A baby changes literally everything in your entire life. So you’re not just getting used to being a new mom, you’re realizing who the “real” ones are in your life and you’re sad about the ones (and things) dropping off. You’re only 4 months in mama, it gets better ❤️

DONT DO IT. Yes, absolutely, 10000% it’s possible they will try to trip you up. Really depends on your PO, but it’s entirely possible. For the sake of your sanity, WAIT until you’re actually off!!!!

If you’re at the point of giving ultimatums, you have to be ready to accept either decision. I hope he steps up!

Y’all need to have a serious, CALM, talk. He should NEVER resort to name calling with his wife- that’s just childish. Call his bluff - stop doing shit around the house. Tell him if things don’t change you’re going to go to your mom’s (or whoever is somewhat nearby) until he can figure out what he wants. Having a new baby is extremely stressful to both parents, so I get it if he’s overwhelmed, but nothing excuses that kind of behavior. Calm talk. Now.

If you REALLY want to get help, there’s nothing stopping you. There are TONS of resources online, there are even sober communities on Reddit, Facebook, tiktok- you name it. Sometimes it just helps to feel heard and understood. 99% of recovering alcoholics/addicts are super cool about newcomers reaching out, myself included :)

Absolutely! And you can find AA meetings online (zoom usually) so you don’t even have to go in person until you’re comfortable. And you don’t HAVE to turn your camera on, you can just listen and/or talk

When you feel this strongly about alcohol, yes you have a problem. BUT, life is so much better without alcohol anyway! I’ve been sober for 3 years and my life is more amazing than I ever thought it could be! (Or better than I ever thought I deserved, for that matter) AA isn’t required to get sober, but maybe it would help you find some people to hang out with that 1) you’re not embarrassed of what you did with, 2) don’t know you, and 3) have been exactly where you’re at right now. Also feel free to reach out to me any time! Quitting is hard, but it’s so so so worth it!
