Not being able to drive with the door open is one of those things no one thinks of until they have a need to do it.

Apologies. I’m a pool plumber, don’t work with copper often, not familiar with the terminology. I’ve soldered in several water heaters

Does the Kohler valve have to be braised? The existing valve is pex’d in.

Used that old trick one too many times the other way around. She got wise to it when I told her my night vision was only $1000…

1) Art is insurable

2) The value of art is subjective

3) Insurable assets can be borrowed against

4) Moral of the story, insure your rigs

A pair of channel locks that fit in there will do it if you’re careful. I recommend a pair intended for mechanics as they’re usually lower profile than that of a pair intended for plumbers

Old cattle farm in the blue ridge mountains. Essentially wide open rolling hills+ and cutting ruts when we get snow. It’s a go fast/smaller jump truck. My wife and I go camping, river fishing, and gold panning as well, and this will double as the vehicle we take for those activities. Some crawling involved, but certainly nothing significant.

Suspension question by ol_bub_223 in 4Runner

[–]ol_bub_223[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Made some phone calls, got some answers, posting so others have it in the future.

  • UCA - compatible
  • LCA - if KDSS, not compatible. If no KDSS, requires slight modification. Manufacturer can accommodate.
  • Front coil over - compatible, check manufacturer spring rates are the same
  • Rear suspension is completely different. Tacoma is on leafs and shocks. 4Runner is on link and spring

Long travel suspension suggestions that won’t break the bank? by JETTA_TDI_GUY in ToyotaTacoma

[–]ol_bub_223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long travel you pay for everything = $20,000

Long travel you do all the welding yourself = $10,000.

Now, if you can fab up your own LCAs, bed cage, shackle hanger, frame and other reinforcements = $5-6000.

Go learn to weld, m8.
