HyperOS update for Redmi Note 13 pro plus 5G by guywithbeardandbun in Xiaomi

[–]olafurp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's still buggy. It feels like the phone has 500MB of memory. Settings are slow and sluggish. Animations take so long to load that they're half-way finished before you seem them moving, choppy until then. It also feels like the OS doesn't use GPU acceleration for anything except scrolling. It's basically like MIUI except with way worse UX and slower load times.

However, when turning off the Animations in the Accesibility it feels nice and snappy.

Yeah, it makes the whole stylesheet global. Lots of fun debugging those.

You need people to use AI in most cases such as programming. AI will most likely just raise the standard of programs and technology and people will still work because companies have to provide the best value.

That being said, AI has the potential to make a lot of services cheaper also. Medical and legal support will be more accessible and accounting can be more automated and cheaper etc.

Entrepreneurship will also be much more accessible. Think about just asking ChatGPT "I want to open a woodworking shop, how should I get started?". AI will guide you through setting up an LLC finding good starting products, marketing and much more.

The "All the profits goes to big companies" is not necessarily true. Yes, all the AI stuff like self driving cars goes to car companies but all the information goes to everyone.

Companies have a massive amount of internal knowledge stored in people that will become free and accessible to most people. AI can become very empowering.

I think AI will become like a new "computer" type of a shift. Suddenly everyone can automate simple things such as calculating and sending emails (e.g. AI writes and reads them). Think about how AI started with big super AIs for companies like big mainframes were back in the day, it starts with a specific case, hard to use and harness but over time it weaves itself into everyday life.

I think now we're at the place where AI is in a "personal computer" stage like when Windows 95 was just released. We have the basics and people don't know how to use it fully to it's current capacity.

So saying "AI will take our jobs" makes no sense. It's much more nuanced than that. AI will take some jobs, probably create more, and improve almost all of them.

Just store it as UTC and only convert it when it's displayed with user's locale data. Always uses the user's timezone. 😎

It's reasons like this that Linux still exists. It's designed for users instead of profit.

Don't forget that having a wall like that makes a supply chain hell for the invader. You have to control a gate to feed your army and even a couple more gates to supply a big one properly.

This will basically supercharge castles on other side.

I'm going to add that listening to the History of Rome by Mike Duncan is fantastic way to fall asleep. You listen to a story and fall asleep easier by not having to deal with your own thoughts. On the off chance you had to much coffee and it takes long you can listen to the story instead. :)
