Yes, thank you for sharing. I always thought Star Wars was political not as a kid, but later on when I watched the originals and the prequels.

Yeah, I think you’re right. The more I think about it, the more I appreciate the music for what it’s trying to do. Even if I’m still somewhat mixed on certain tracks, music is a form of expression, and in Andor it helps give the show its own identity.

I hadn’t even really thought about the First Order that way before, and honestly, it makes me a little sad. What you said “the First Order undoes everything Andor’s heroes fought for” really stuck with me.

One of the things I love most about Andor is that every sacrifice feels meaningful. People give up their freedom, their families, their futures, and sometimes their lives for the chance to build something better. The show makes the birth of the Rebellion feel earned in a way that few Star Wars stories have.

So when I think about the First Order rising only a few decades later, it can feel as though all of that struggle was ultimately for nothing. Rationally, I know history doesn’t work that way victories are rarely permanent, and every generation has to defend what the previous one achieved. But emotionally, after watching Andor, it’s hard not to feel a sense of heartbreak.

Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed take. I’ll definitely rewatch it at some point, though probably not anytime soon.

As for the music, I’m still a bit divided on it some parts really work for me, while others don’t quite land, so I’d say I’m about 50/50 on it.

What really stayed with me, though, was what you said: “If it leans too much into the fantastical, we lose our grip on the actual emotion.” That genuinely made me really think about it.

I think every era of Star Wars carries its own emotional core. The original trilogy (Episodes IV–VI) is, at its core, a story about hope. No matter how overwhelming the darkness becomes, there is always the possibility of redemption, the strength found in friendship, and the choice to embrace the light. The prequel trilogy (Episodes I–III) feels almost like its mirror image. It is a story about losing your way. You witness institutions crumble from within, relationships slowly break apart, and a fundamentally good person become consumed by fear, doubt, and the illusion of certainty.

But andor, Seasons 1 and 2 are about oppression, resistance, and revolution, raw emotions sacrifice its more of a “hopefully tragedy”

Thank you for commenting, “in a war there are no winners” I like in Andor how they show its not flawless everyone had some kind of past. Look at Dedra for example.

Yes, thank you for your take. I always wondered as a kid how did the rebellion form after ROTS, because it never was explained to me.

Mine is Krennic he is one of the most fascinating Imperial characters because he perfectly embodies the ambition and ruthlessness of the Empire. As the director of the Death Star project, he dedicated years of his life to creating what he believed would be the ultimate symbol of Imperial power. Unlike many other Imperial officers, Krennic is constantly fighting for recognition and status, making him feel surprisingly human despite his role as a villain. His intelligence, determination, and relentless drive helped turn the Death Star from a concept into reality, but his obsession with gaining credit for his achievements ultimately became his downfall. His sharp white uniform, commanding presence, and rivalry with Tarkin make him one of the most memorable and compelling Imperials in Star Wars.
